Okay, you didn't exactlly explain the pictures the first time, but it all makes sense now. Seems fine.

sorry,my fault.

I can say that I was relieved to be okay, if not completely discouraged and that ..

PB PM said:
Ah looks like a back focus problem. The only way to fix back focus is to take your camera and lenses in to have the AF sensitivity adjusted.

I did the test back focus, as you can see here:
I focused on in this box:
http://img117.imageshack.us/img117/6374/pi2.jpg

I focused on this stack:
http://img709.imageshack.us/img709/699/pi1k.jpg

probably this test does not guarantee anything ..but, shooting at close looks, it`s seems okay.

Are you shooting with the 50mm F1.4 wide open? If so that would explain the apparent softness.

yes.

The problem is yours anyway.
If you have focus problems it is more likely your lens then the camera (machine).
If you can try different lens and see what happens.
I would give the lens and the camera to service for check.

Hello everyone, I would say that this is my first post here, on the forum.
I have a problem and is very demotivating to me.
I have the following equipment: Nikon D90 + AF-S NIKKOR 50mm 1:1.4 G f
((Recently i made an upgraded from D80 to D90, and to be honest was getting better results in D80 ..)
I have noticed that the focus of the machine is not in the right place.
that is, if i focus in two or three meters of the object the focus is not in the right place, but if i focus in top of the object that's okay.
i also made a test focusing lens and everything seems in order ...
has anyone had problems with this lens?

Another problem is sharpness, I do not manage to get the sharpness I want, now i dont know if the sharpness out of this machine is ok, or I'm demanding.
has anyone had problems with this lens?
and where do I find out what the best settings for my machine (D90)

a thanks to all.
