Auto update?!? Of course! Why didn't Nikon think of this before! Imagine you wake up one day and your D3S sensor is automatically updated to the D3XS sensor! :^)

Renters' insurance, but I don't think that covers repairs. I had my D300 stolen last year, and the insurance paid all but a $500 deductible. There are limits on my policy for items primarily used for business use.

Over $700! for a warranty?!? You did say no right? That's a enough for another lens or even a camera body!

BTW,..When I call B&H yesterday afternoon to check the status of the order, the rep informed me that the D3S's are in stock and shipping,...then was STRONG-ARMED to purchase the 3 year warranty. I never felt sooooo much pressure to purchase an extended warranty in my life. was quoted mid $700 range.

OK,..it was very early when I made my post. I did mean D3S. Believe me,..it shipped (see below).I am VERY excited to get this new equipment and expand my knowledge and ability. Thanks to everyone for their opinions and past experiences.

My card was charged yesterday and was told by B&H Iould have it friday.

Now I wonder where you heard this!
