Thanks all for your posts, I have to respond, that the day was very foggy, I was in the middle of a forest and there was a fullish moon as the only light source.

I may have switched the camera off when I saw Job Nr and I think that maybe that accounts for the fact that there were no images.

Thanks again and thanks for the welcome NikoDoby.

Job NR, normally shows up when long exposure NR is turned on, its normal. The camera takes an exposure the same length as the original one, with the shutter closed, so that the camera can identify hot pixels and remove them from the image.

I'm not sure. It may just be the firmware acting up with the card... As to the D90 an the 50mm turn auto Iso off and Noise reduction off too. The image quality is much better. I shoot up to ISO 2500 with little to no visible noise...

Not even my D700 is devoid of noise at 2500. Me thinks you need to see an optometrist.

I once got the warning and NR was turned off. I'm clueless as to what was going on as I was shooting at 11pm in the middle of nowhere. I switched cards and was fine...

Why would it be firmware acting up on a card? Job Nr just means that noise reduction is working on eliminating ISO noise from the image.

Welcome to the forum Rusty

Nr means noise reduction. When "Job Nr" flashes it means your camera is performing noise reduction on the photo you just took. Seems like your using the wrong camera settings for the wrong lighting. Unless you're taking photos at night or in a very dark room you shouldn't be getting that message.

I have a D300s and was shooting in a very low light situation a few days ago. I like to keep my ISO settings as low as possible and prefer to open up and keep the shutter open as long as possible.

The lens was a Sigma 18-200 3.5/6.3 set on 18.

At first I thought that the camera was not registering to the cards, and I kept on seeing "Job Nr" on the read out by the trigger.

A little later, I took some fantastic shots and I had to cancel my original theory that the camera was not writing to the card - there simply were no images.

My spare D90 with the 50mm 1.8 lens did register images (ISO set to auto) but they were very noisy.

Any idea what "Job Nr" means, I have not seen this before?
