I know, Niko. I'm sure at some point I told myself that it was 'about 2' and then started taking that at face value. It's one of the pitfalls of having a brain trained to round everything. Lots of the other pitfalls of that training involve tax time and the IRS. ;-)

Well, I'll look on the bright side: one more item on my list of pros for the D700 upgrade...

It was just illustrate have how many Mp they have packet into that small sensor, and Jonny the FF sensor is app 2.3 times larger than the APS-C sensor so I think my numbers are not to far off, but they were not meant to be exact anyway

I've used "back lit" cameras and while image quality is improved they still have a long way to go. It's not as drastic of a difference as I had hoped. Though your math is probably correct Pete, the image quality is NOT like that of a 180 megapixel camera.

Anyway at work most of the New P & S cameras that we have for sale are now 14.1Mp. Special from Panasonic and Nikon. So if you want to buy that New Panasonic Lumix DMC-TS2 camera, it is 14Mp, this little waterproof camera is by far the best looking of the waterproofs this year

These 14Mp cameras have a pixel density of 50 MP/cm² and that by the way would be app 180Mp on APS-C and app 420Mp on FF

They are all using a new backlit Sony sensor, I think it would have made a better camera if they have stuck to 10Mp like they have in the one for SuperZoom models, but they didn't

Have you tried one or seen reviews of any of them
