If I look at some shots made with D40 I would actually be perfectly happy with similar IQ on a point and shoot and 6 MP.
P6000 was very competitive to G10 in all aspects, and in some even a bit better, except in the most important one for photography and it is the lens, really awful, ghosting, flares, CA as though no coating was applied making this otherwise very descent camera a looser. If Nikon is to compete here they should not waste the time on GPS or some other “feature” but the basic photography first.

You know the P5000, P5100, and P6000 were suppose to be a G "killers" too :^(

Yeah Yeah Yeah I know what the word retort means "captain". We are talking about an actual object and not a verbal or written statement but whatever. This isn't an English class.

The words you quoted are actually from an interview with AmateurPhotographer magazine and not from this website. Like I said Nikon never said when they are planning on announcing it only that they are working on it. The camera doesn't really interest me.

The retort is "Coolpix+I Am Nikon". The G11 is great and all, but it doesn't have its own web site.

As per this site:

The buzz on the main page seemed to indicate something was happening. The name doesn't really interest me.

Retort?!

Nikon never said when they were going to announce it, but they have said they are working on a G11 Rival. Most likely to be called the P7000.

I was kind of looking forward to Nikon's answer to the G11.

Does any one know what happened, is it still in the works?
