Sure a light coat of pink spray paint would do the trick. It would be the easiest with all internal focusing lenses though.
Or just cover the lens in a fluffy cover type of a thing.

Uh Pete your friend got this from the Nikonrumors main page. Admin posted this there a few days ago. I'm currently upgrading all of my Nikons like this ;^)
