My favorite Nikon lens focal length since using the system for the first time in the 1960s has been the 20mm Nikkor. I've owned and used every variety, including the mirror-up 21mm version...

So, I have a review of the current 20mm f/2.8 AF on my weblog here... http://blogs.salon.com/0004217/2005/01/23.html

Here's my review of the cheap but excellent 28~85mm Nikkor which had a plastic-moulded aspheric element... http://blogs.salon.com/0004217/2005/02/03.html

Oh, and for those into Nikon's Enlarging lenses have a look at this review... http://blogs.salon.com/0004217/2004/11/15.html

Or for those interested in the rare 105mm f/4 Bellows-Nikkor on the PB-4 Bellows... http://blogs.salon.com/0004217/2005/07/25.html

And a real oddball is the 8mm f/2.8 Fisheye-Nikkor... http://www.edbuziak.workzsites.com/lenses_Nikkor_fisheye_8_p1.html

Hope I'm allowed to post links like these... I'm just trying to be helpful! 8~/

D300, I love it! The only thing I don't like is the High ISO noise. I feel my D50 does iso 1600 a little better.

85mm F/1.8 is amazing! Its a soft at f/1.8-2.2, but at f/2.5 you get away from the dreamy look (which can be good for portraits)and enter the super sharp territory, and you still keep a very narrow DOF.

50mm f/1.8 is the best $130 I have ever spent.

I love my 2 SB-600 flashes. They make setting up your own little home portrait studio very easy. I would like to get a 3rd CLS supporting flash soon to use as a hair light.

D300 is currently selling for the equivalent of $1,275 in Japan (via Kakaku.com the J-price comparison site). That count as a deal? ;) I'm saving for it, gonna spring in the next few weeks (payday) if the D400 doesn't appear, or if the D400 appears as a D300 just with added video that I don't need.

SB-600. There isn't much of anything that that flash can't do. Fast recharge times, works perfectly (In Manuel mode) with my non-chipped 200mm Ai Micro-nikkor on my d60.

But... the casing seems to be a bit cheap feeling.

Most underrated dSLR ever? D300. Everyone talked about the D3, then the D700 when the dust settled and everyone forgot how awesome this body is. Fine by me. If you find a deal on one, buy it, or all of them you can't regret it. And by deal I mean under 1400.
