i "have" the newer AF-D version - awesome construction on these suckers, solid metal, not much distortion, just awesome. . . can't imagine what the new 24 1.4 is like!

That would be the one, got it for my Nikkormat. I felt like it set was missing something. Now I have the wide, normal, and telephoto. Loved shooting with it ever since my dad let me when I was 5 and now that I finally got him to give it to me its used a lot.

I suppose you bought Nikon 24mm f/2.8 AI-s MF lens, right?
It was much respected lens back in the film era (some 20 or more years ago).
I wonder how well it looks today.

Yep, I just ordered a 24mm 2.8 lens. I can't wait till it gets here, should be about Monday or so. Will be a lot of fun to get out and shoot with it in the street and in the studio when I get back to school. Its an older manual focus for my film camera. Anyone else here have it?
