The 10-24 is a variable aperture. I've grown to love the constant apertures of the pro lenses which also tend to remain sharp at most settings.

you should have waited a lil bit longer. the new nikon 10-24 has been released and will ship very soon. you get a wider zoom and newer lens. but well, what can i say.

WA lens has been a problem for me. the great one is nikon 14-24 but its truly expensive and vulnerable. and DX wide angle lens is overpriced, cheap build quality and okay performer : (

Nikon do have a DX 12-24mm f/4G.

you mean Nikkor AF-S 14-24 f/2.8G?

if so, you only get a portion of what it can deliver on a DX.

I've not had a lens this wide before as I generally do telephoto. Hopefully I'll get to use it on my D90 soon.
