I can only imagine. What is the IQ like at the ratios beyond 1:1?

I'm usually between 1:4 and 1:1, and the breeze requires patience. A lot of patience. Too much @# patience. But, when things work, there are rewards.

Thats one of my main interests too, getting more of exactly what I want in focus. I can see the benefits to having both a PC-E and a bellows, but at the moment the price difference makes the bellows look much more attractive. And I dont imagine that macro work done at reproduction ratios of almost 11x is ever done outside since the slightest breeze can make a pretty significant impact on certain small subjects.

I wouldn't want to take my Nikon bellows outside for macro work. I plan to get the 85 PCE, and no I don't plan on making the real world look miniature, I want to be able to adjust my plane of focus - more in focus, not less. If the 85 works a I expect, I might add the 45. I guess these lenses are expensive and specialized that not many people use them.

or I could get this instead and drastically improve my macro capabilities:

Despite being interested in using it for video on my D300s, I am more interested in just having the capabilities of a view camera on my D700. My dad has a pair of gorgeous Hasselblads and two antique lenses for a large format camera (a Schneider and a Kodak Soft Focus portrait lens that he paid close to a thousand dollars for in the 70's)and I'd like to learn how to work with a similar system on digital before I start wasting my money on film.

Great lens but expensive if all you want it for is to make everything look miniature like in the NYC video I posted earlier.
