Speaking of which did you see that his wikipedia entry has been "hacked". It states William Shatner, "gained worldwide fame and became the Famous PIMP of Las Vegas". It also says he was "Born and raised on Mars" and starred in a porn movie.

I use the RRS lever quick release on an Arca Swiss Z1 ball head and it works perfectly. I also have a RRS BH-25 with QR that's great for light loads. I've used Kirk plates and love their Macro focusing rail. I don't think you could go wrong with anyone of these guys - they all (Arca Swiss, RRS and Kirk) make top quality equipment. I prefer the lever quick release for it's speed in use, but the knobs are lighter weight and less expensive.

Anyway I have always hated how the quick release plates drives you crazy on most Ball Head Systems. Both Kirk or Really Right Stuff are fitted to each camera and are mounted solid, the Kirk plate also have a loop at the end of the plate. I emailed Kirk to ask if that Loop is strong enough to carry a D300/Grip and 70-200 2.8VR with my homemade r-strap thing

Both have similar Ball Heads and L brackets

Kirk cost less

So would you recommend Kirk or Really Right Stuff

Pete
