Yup. I like the fact that you can see your focus point now, nice feature to have.

That 480GB (a bit big, I admit, but I like having that much there) is backed up through time machine, then my external vaults are stored on a 10TB raid 0+1.

Back to the topic, the metadata tab is MUCH nicer than it used to be. A huge improvement.

My library's finally done updating. Brushes are nice. Haven't seen much new beyond that yet though, we'll see how much extra there is over the next few days.

Damn my decision to upgrade my library before doing anything, stil at 98% completion...

There are some neat new features, but I agree, it is a bit of a let down, and most of the additions could/should have come as a 2.5 $50 update.

just start playing with it, and unfortunately I'm disappointed so far - it's slightly faster but the new interface is horrible (at least at the first sight). I like the brushes idea, but I don't understand why they did change the histogram window and get rid off the autoexposure and autolevels buttons; so I guess for me the choice is obvious - will stay with the previous version, will miss the brushes - but all of them are available in Dodge & Burn plug in.

I'm not updating my current libraries until I'm sure I'll buy it. Seems a little buggy at this point, so I might wait.

My library's been upgrading for a couple hours now and is only 8% done. The anticipation is killing me.

Its great to see an update, and the upgrade is cheap too.

ugh... Now I have two upgrades to purchase... between Viveza2 and Aperture, I'm going to wind up poor this month. $200 for software I already own /facepalm.

I can't wait to try out the brushes. The full screen view changes look really nice, too.

Just finished reading through the list of updates... looks promising. I'll definitely get it. I'm probably going to opt for the boxed version though. I like having the disks for the more expensive software.

I'm waiting for apple to email me the download location, it's taking a long time today, sadly. 64Bit should help if you have a lot of RAM. A 32 bit app can only address 4GB of memory, so if you have 8, you stand to gain.

Is 64bit a very big deal for lightroom \ aperture? I know that its important for working with large files in photoshop, but I'm not sure if there are any advantages to having it in something like aperture. But hey... the more bits the merrier right? I'll just put it with all the megapixels I'm not using.

Face recognition could be a pretty big deal. My girlfriend uses lightroom on account of its cross-platform compatibility, but she's always trying to find pictures of her clients across jobs... this might get her entirely on the mac eco-system which would be nice.

Update: Store is back up!

I'm glad to see it's got face recognition. I use lightroom, so it means they'll almost have to put it in LR3. I figured they would since google put face recognition in picasa, though.

I can't wait to get my hands on it. Unfortunately the store is still down for updates.

What a nice morning surprise. Apple released Aperture 3 this morning. Includes faces \ places, and 64bits.

Anybody got $99 they can spot me?
