Make sure you open up a JPEG image from your camera. Shutter count should be listed somewhere in that long list of numbers.

Just remember that shutter count is NOT a good way to determine how much use a camera has had. Shutter count can be reset.

You need a program that can read EXIF data. There are plenty of free programs for Windows and Mac OSX that allow you to do so.
