hmmm. . .that's substantially cheaper than out here. . .I guess if you're just starting out, offer a 25% reduction from the $1500 base, and then option out different things like pre-ceremony, etc. . .

Im located In Nashville Indiana. Its roughly 50 miles south of Indianapolis.10 miles from bloomington. There is one local phtographer in my town and i mentor through him. he charges 1500 base for a wedding. Other higher end photographers i have worked with before charge 2500-4000. One who worked under herb ritts, charges 4000 along with massive print prices. i am deferently not looking to get paid top dollar. Im just starting out, but i already have the idea down of a wedding. and i got the gear to shoot a Full frame main and a DX backup. With 2.8 lenses and speedlights for both.

first question is where are you located?

I'll tell you prices here in the NYC area are A LOT higher than most anywhere in the country, and the photogs charge accordingly. . .

Your BEST bet (and I hate recommending this since I'm sure it's happened to me), is call local photographers and act like you're getting married. . .your best way to gauge your pricing is against others locally, and go from there. . .

MPIX/Miller's/Pictage are all good for printing. . .

I have recently inquired a client who wants me to Photograph her wedding. Shes interested in having prices for my package. But just getting started into the business myself. I currently don't have my prices put together. The package would include

3 hours before ceremony ( getting dressed and ready + close up to decorations )
Ceremony
reception

+ roughly a days work of editing. (200-400 photos)

hours don't matter but i would like to control my images where i would print the pictures through MPIX. But not get into online ordering such as zenfolio or photoshelter

I am 18 and i have professional equipment, Ive been a second shooter to 5 weddings already and done 1 as a favor for no pay. Im wondering what a good flat rate for a wedding would be. I would like to meet with them after the wedding and present my pictures and have them order which ones they want to have printed and have in a album. A lot of photographers locally charge around 1,500-3500 for their wedding packages and sell their photos for about

4x6- 6$
5x7- 12$
8x10- 18$

Im curious of a average base price for what i will be doing. along with reasonable prices for printing
