I am not sure about that, new Sony 10Mpix CCD sensor used in Canon G11 and S90 gives the best IQ I have ever seen in a P&S

That is actual what I dislike the most about Sony, they don't try to generate high IQ, but rather camera specs at the lowest possible price, this includes their latest DSLR also. And sadly so many brands incl Nikon depends on Sony to make their sensors

More than likely they are all made by Sony. Which new cameras exactly are you talking about bmxdad?

And will the sensor be found in some of the new Coolpix models???

BTW that sensor has the highest pixel density so far of 50 MP/cm²
