Deviantart certainly is not safe for alpha, at least some part of it.

alpha - please read the forum rules, this forum is intended for 18+ users with some exceptions (parental approval) but this is not making this forum a junior one; as for You we appreciate Your input but You have to remember that if You quote someone, not fully understanding the words You quoting (i.e. KR post about elephant skin) or if a mod or any other 18+ member is asking You to stop posting than being You I'll follow hers/his words.

Devianart is definatly not "Alpha Safe" but I think there is a safe switch.. ? Theer are some amasing photographers and artists there.

Microstock is evil, alpha, which one are you on at the moment?

Use the non-micro stocks sites. They are good. alarmy is one and .. cant remember the others.
I have a friend that is getting 2-3K a month off his stock site, he lives off it. the bigest single sale he has had was 10K I think. .. :-) he bought a D3 and a lens or 2 with that..:-) but he has been at it for years and years... he has some 15K photos in it. i am thinking of joining up too..

I am a member of deviantart. Or well actually was. I am pretty inactive on it now.

Some people make money off that website. I was mostly there to well waste time.

You can find some really inspiring photographers there. You will find attention whores and all other types of typical Internet community types.

You should join something like AmishphotosOnline.com (safe for alpha). I am sure you will love it!

I agree, stock photography is like selling out. Not to mention making work for professional photographers harder to get, and forcing them to work for less pay.

You don't pay to become an exclusive member, you just swear not to put your images on any other stock website. I used to use many websites, but none of them got me any sales except for one so I canceled my accounts. But yeah, they'd probably move on anyway once the price starts getting high...

I don't appreciate you using the word "pimp" (just looked it up), but I see your point. Now, what's the worst that can happen though? I mean, if I ever do find where one of my photos showed up, at least I'll have something to be proud of, right?
