Do you have a near by Park, or historical site. They usually offer up a lot subjects. What caught my eye about Ed's work is the picture with in the picture. I have a tenancy to see the "big picture", and have difficulty seeing seeing the smallest of subjects. When I am looking at the whole tree, most others are looking at the smallest of branches.

Pete,

Funny you should start this thread because I have been following Edward Crim's work on his Forrest Park 365 project. He felt like he lost his creativity so he visited Forrest Park in St. Louis one day everyday in 2009 to shoot, and re-inspire himself.

I found out about the project on Popular Photography, the links are below.

Hope this helps.

Thanks: I have thought about doing just one month, but at the moment I am sure what the topic should be, I tired of snow, but maybe I should look at winter in a different way, I just don't know right now how to look at it

Photographer's block as in what? Not getting the image you specifically want?

Yes and no. I do photography for myself, so if I really can't get it, it's really no big deal. I move on. If I needed to make a living out of it though, it'd be a totally different story.

One reason I like having more than one macro lens is that the change in focal length gives me a different perspective when I feel blocked during the summer. Changing lenses can also help when I'm traveling or doing street shooting and I don't feel inspired. When I toured the Chinese internment barracks at Angel Island, I wasn't feeling inspired by anything I was seeing or shooting with my usual 16-85 and 10-24 (all interiors). Then I put on the 35/1.8 and things fell into place for me visually.

Studio work gives me an entirely different kind of blockage and with much more inertia.

I should drive down to Calgary some day and follow you around a bit, just don't use that pepper spray on me

I get my blocks in the summer. Most birds have gone but even the landscape around here gets dull as it turns grayish-brown. I also do not like heat at all. The joys of Southern California.

Yeah, I get photographer's block. You can tell when my website hasn't been update for weeks :^O

Not that I stop shooting that is. But the shooting I do during periods like this is for someone else, so it doesn't count.

Stupid blocks.

Just like the author getting that writer's block, sometimes, just like the last few weeks, I simply can not take any pictures that I like or even get any photographic ideas to work on.

Do you sometimes get the photographer's block???

Now I am shooting some Speed Skating pictures on Saturday and/or Sunday, hopefully I get some great shots and this gets me going again.
