Hmm I've used both and I can't really see as big of a difference as you say. I actually prefer the flexibility of VC. It's not as big of a loss as Kodachrome :^(

Kodak still has Supra Endura. There's just different versions of it. The current "digital" version is Supra Endura VC. As far as I know this newer version can handle RA-4 process. You can still buy RA-4 color Endura too.

Yes, I know Kodachrome was finished. But it's too bad they killed the Endura thing too.

Kodachrome needed to die, the processing chemistry wasn't viable to keep in production, and the colour reproduction was lagging behind the E6 films in recent times. Ever since E-6 chrome came onto the scene, Kodachrome's been on the decline. Sometimes slides would come back with awful green or magenta casts (great if you're a hipster into lomo BS, bad if you had a $40,000 cover shoot riding on those chromes). I personally use Fuji's E6 emulsions whenever I shoot color reversal, and have been nothing but pleased with Astia and Provia.

Yeah, at this point I don't think I should worry too much about the paper, everyone has different preferences and like you said all the papers are good. Kodak killed the original Endura with Kodachrome though? Wow, what a company...

The big hubbub over Endura is that Kodak discontinued the standard variant of Supra Endura, which was known for its great color and subtle tones. It was a flexible RA-4 paper, as opposed to the Endura Ultra which is more saturated and more heavy handed.

All the papers are decent, but it's a shame to see the real Endura get canned. I can't wait till next year when I'll have the Durst Lambda in the school's IS lab to print on...

Oh my god, I haven't even chosen a photo yet! *Sigh*, this is going to take a while. I'm not too crazy about getting a bunch of 4x6s because that means spending more and waiting longer. Grrr.

I don't recommend you download their color profiles unless you know what your doing and have a calibrated system to work with.
