This flash originally was going to be released as the AlienBees Max, but it fell through (see here: http://jerrycentral.com/2009/04/29/new-alien-bees-ab-max-on-the-horizon/ )

They wound up pulling it at the last second because of QA concerns.

See letter here: http://74.125.47.132/search?q=cache:HW3lBY9g7CgJ:www.facebook.com/topic.php%3Fuid%3D106160534079%26topic%3D9758+AB+Max+Letter&cd=5&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=us&client=firefox-a

The einstein is effectively the same product, except that it will still require a pure sine wave inverter to power remotely.

I've had my eye on these for a while, there was a whole big drama getting these things to market, but after around a year of delays, they are finally here :)

Of course we got to this point last June and then everything fell apart.

This may have been available for a while, but it appears that the folks over at AlienBees \ White Lightning are now accepting pre-orders for the new Einstein mono blocks. I've had my eye on this flash unit for quite a while. Check it out here:

Can't wait to see the reviews.
