Nobody in their right mind would by a Sony DSLR, so that would be why the sales are so low.

I think they should start to care because Sony doesn't even have a single DSLR in amazon's 50 best selling digital cameras! The a350 (I think that's the model #) is the first Sony at 61!

I doubt they are worried about that, they make more on HD camcorders than DSLRs.

I was thinking the same thing, but they are killing photo camera sales by doing it.

Mostly because Sony wants to protect sales of their low end HD video camcorders.

I know that, I just don't know if Canon was using Sony sensor on previous G's.
By the way no Sony DSLR camera shoots HD, what the shame.

The G10 also had a CCD mb. Even with the new "Sony" CCD the G11 still doesn't shoot HD.

That is why Canon is using brand new Sony CCD in G11, I wonder if Nikon will do the same in this new Coolpix Pxxxx.

Really? Because last time I checked the top three camera companies in the world were Japanese. They must be doing something right. But I guess Thom's opinion is fact now a days.

Yes I know what rolling shutter is. Rumor has it Nikon might be going to a new high ISO CCD to solve the problem. The point is they won't find a solution if their "wasting time" with prescription crop.

Rolling shutter is a problem with CMOS sensors, just look at the CMOS sensor camcorders, they have the same problem. CCD sensors don't have that problem, which is why high end video cameras still use CCDs.

I'm tired of arguing my point, here's my final statement:

No matter how much some of us may want it, another crop of Nikon DSLR's will NOT be coming!!!!!!!!!!

I really don't care what a vocal minority of Canon shooters think about the 1.3x crop. If the cameras didn't sell, Canon wouldn't make them.

But why would I want a 1.2 digital zoom in a DSLR at the expense of image quality? The price of full frame sensors can only go down and processors can only go faster. So a prescription crop to get faster fps doesn't make sense. Like I said before the 1.3 canon sports shooters hated that the 1Dmk4 is not full frame. In other words they do have the choice and hate it.
