On the other hand.... I just saw a D700 with 649 - yes, 649 shutter actuations and a grip go for £1050.

It sounds like the 'chance' you are being given is heavily weighted in the other persons favour. Offer him 500 Euro's and end up at no more than 600 or tell him to forget it. 110,000 actuations indeed!

I bought mine with 30,000 actuations on it from a wedding/studio shooter in Ocotber 2009. I racked up nearly 150,000 on it over three years by the time I traded it in to my local shop this past February. I have shot with an F4, F90X, F100, D40, D40X, D300, D600, D800E and I still consider the D700 as the best camera I have ever used. Perhaps I am a bit biased because I finally got my break in Photography when I was using it, but it handled so well, performed in all sorts of challenging light, and just never let me down. Evangelj, as Adamz mentioned just grab it and start firing away. Its a hell of a camera.

get d700 and enjoy shooting. don't care to much about the 110k shutter count. You can easily get twice as much. moreover, there's a lot of add-on for d700 - like excellent 3rd grips for bargain price.

Now im at somewhat a conundrum. I have a chance to buy a 4 years old d700 with 110k shutter count but otherwise very much taken care of. Also with it is the battery grip for 1000eur. New d600 is 1950eur. Its an amazing camera for sure but with this milege is it worth it?
