I'm pretty happy with the shooting aspect of things, so perhaps apart from another body as and when funds allow (my wife wants me to swap mine for a buff 21 year old, but that's another subject entirely - ROFL)...

I'm only partly happy with my 'digital darkroom', so at least I won't have to spend many, many days of sweat and toil in blacked-out or dimly lit chemical filled rooms to get that aspect of my photography better...

So what else is on my list...

I resolve to improve the end result, be it on print or on screen. Guess that means that it's back to sitting in front of the PC screen for days on end :(

Oh yes, and when *I* win the lotto, I will buy one of EVERYTHING from the Nikon camera catalog and just play for a while.... *SIGH* :)

Like many have said. Try to work outside my comfort zone. Try some new things that may help expand the photographic style I use.
oh and get a d700.
then maybe sell it and buy a d800 when it is released=)

And... Convince the manager/wife that I need the Singh-Ray Vari-ND filter.

So, do people want to update us on 2010 resolutions and list any photographic New Year's resolutions for the coming year?

My report:
I bought neither the 24-70 2.8 nor the 70-200 2.8 VRII. My yearning for both may be satisfied this year with a 24-120 f/4 (we'll see, right?).

I had less time for photography than I thought I would and had to turn down a few paid shoots to finish up my degree so I also had less money for photography, especially with a broken car and a move after graduation.

2011 resolution:
Get caught up on photo backups. I got behind on post-processing my personal photos for reasons described above, and I can't bring myself to spend the time burning backup disks until I've got them all edited. I'm almost caught up now by using my time off during the holidays.

I have not had much play time with bibble V5. The beta for V5 is free to play with. Its stable. Fast compared to V4. It is also able to use the multi core CPU to the fullest so If you are doing some high CPU Transformations it sure does speed though those! I cant really do a good comparison with other software as I dont use aperture or lightroom. But it is nice and easy to sort and manage photos. You can do some interesting things to the pictures like crop, saturation, high/low light recovery, rotate, noise, curves etc... . It doesn't actually do stuff to the pictures so the originals are not changed, which is great. It creates an associated file in the directory... Its really a very nice program. I intend to buy it if it supports my Raw.. well maybe even if it does not support my raw files since I am only going to use it for quick and dirty manipulations.

With regard to raw files . I use the ones that came with linux and gimp. works fine for me so I dont need to wine acr. Integrates well with Gimp.

Curious to get a report on your experiences with bibble, heartyfisher. I Linux host Lightroom through a VirtualBox XP guest.

Will Adobe Camera Raw convert your fuji raw files? It /might/ run through WINE (too lazy to check) but Lightroom and Photoshop won't.
