If you live near the ocean, you might have a different view of waterproof covers vs how much water can my camera and lens take. When there's salt in the spray, you've got an altogether more troublesome set of long term issues. Had problems with an old Nikormat EL and 80-200/4.5 I took sailing, now I'm more cautious.

Yeah, I know. My D300 and 80-200 ƒ/2.8 put up fine with snow fall and freezing temperatures!

does 70-200 really need a raincover, I was using my N70-200/VRI in heavy rainfall and never had any problems with this lens, actually was worried more by my camera :)

It looks like a competitor to the Aqua Tech products. Has anyone experience with any of these raincoats? There isn't much available between 5 pound, $2,500 housings and plastic bags. Hope this product works.

Actually there few straps that I did not tightened - there is a lot of "loose material" on those two pics.
