Apparently now a celebrity can sue you if you say their magazine cover looks like it was photoshopped. This is more reason Nikon should get rid of Ashton Kutcher!!!

This photochopped ad is banned in England after 59 year old ex-supermodel Twiggy appears in Olay ad?!

Though I can understand how it's false advertisement, do we really need government to protect us from photochop?

This was already brought up before. It kinda went way off topic but I think we all pretty much agree that this is a very stupid law and a waste of money. Some one is actually going to get a salary for all the paper work this law will require! STUPID!

Next the french will require rumor sites to disclose that they only post rumors and not factual information!

NSX - didn't notice this post earlier. I haven't read all the proposed rules re the French law, but I think if someone holds out a photo to be documentary as opposed to "art", some kind of disclosure is appropriate. But then, National Enquirerer type rags would contain more disclosure statements than images (maybe not so bad) :-)

The French government is trying to set a law to require magazines to disclose how photoshopped an image is.

http://www.nytimes.com/2009/12/03/fashion/03Boyer.html

There's a video in the article too.

One one hand, although I understand people now have an image issue, I also understand it from a magazine's point of view too- who wants to see boring photos of real people? Plus, the magazines obviously are out to make a profit, not show the real world as it is.
