I think you must ask the lens flare question from my equipment and in terms of exposure, I overexposed the crescent a bit and this was the result. The stars in the shot have been a bit "emphasised".

Gentoo, you had me completely fooled! Regulator, now where are the bird pics? While we're waiting, that's a great panorama. What do you use to stitch them?

Nice, Monty. I've wondered about shots like that. Do you expose for the unlit part of the moon or somewhere between lit and unlit? And then how do you avoid the lens flare from the bright crescent in the rest of your frame?

So your are a REAL Senior Member of NR, but I know what you mean, I have all these photographic ideas, but after a days work and trying deal with my 9 yr old son there is just mo more energy left. What I need is a photographic holiday, I could see myself driving down to Lower Nevada(my parents live in Mesa) and back up through Utah, maybe I should do it this Spring, I think spring pictures of the desert area could be very neat

UTAH? I have always dreamed about the lower part of Utah...Canyonland and such. Some day I'll make it. I want to visit the slot canyons. I can't imagine a more beautiful location than that.

MERRY CHRISTMAS to all here.
