8ella8 said:
question... How does it work if a camera IS updated (D90rumored upgrade)? does the previous model go down in price or the newer model more expensive? If there is an upgrade of the D90 what price can we expect? (this question has probably be answered 100 times before...sorry!)

When a new model comes along the old one is usually just not restocked. In other words Nikon will stop making the old model a few months before a new release. So the old model will usually sell at the same price. It just won't be restocked. The D90 is already pretty low so I doubt it will go any lower. If it does it's because the retailer hasn't been able to sell it and will lower the price to a clearance item, etc.

The new model will be more expensive. I would say around $999-1200USD.

Agreed on that grip switch! Still the D90 is one of the best DSLR's of all time out there in comparison to what you get for the price (roughly 75% d300, 5%D700, and %20 D5000) ... (Obviously the D700 D3(s, x) and any hasselblad is better)

Yeah, I figured it would eventually "integrate" itself into the workflow. The bodies with built in grips have it the same, right?

You know, it would be nice instead of having a lock the camera could just sense when it's vertical and automatically activate the vertical controls.

Actually, there are such things as grammar checkers. Not as good as spell checkers though.

Here's an example I just bumped into:

As for the MB-D10, like you said not the end of the world, just takes getting used to I guess. The only other thing I'm not too thrilled about is the lock switch is actually the reverse of the on-off—think about the confusion!

you'd think Nikon would've shrunk the MBD10 a little, because you're right, size wise the D300/700 gripped stands taller. . .I like the feel of the D2/3 bodies better than a gripped D300/700 body, just a weight and sealing thing, so on the same boat as you. . .

Somewhat of a size issue after all the D3(s/x) are slightly shorter (hight wise) than the D700 with the grip, which would save me the trouble of having to get a new bag. I think of it as more of a long term goal to have a pro body, maybe when the D4 comes out. In some ways I wish Nikon still made a DX body with a built in grip, which is why I have looked at the D2X a few times, but stayed away because it costs almost as much as my D300 did.

I'm pretty sure you're probably one of a select few people that can say that.
I looked at your site. You've got some great photos there.

Thanks for the welcome.

The temptation to move to the D700(s, x, h, 800, 900) will always be there, but I would love to have the built in grip of the pro bodies. I had the MB-D80 for my D80, and the MB-D10 for my D300, and almost never take the grips off. I also like the idea of having the superior weather sealing of the pro line (I shoot wildlife, birds etc) and would like to feel more comfortable shooting out in nasty weather.
