Thanks! I thought B&W background will make old man figure stand out, but I suppose lines help too.

Yeah, I like it that way, Pete. If I'm honest, I have to admit the reason I didn't crop more is that the focus wasn't spot on. And for the record, this was from a family photo shoot I did, so it's not my boy.

Hi Jon, great picture, I cropped the picture to really make your little boy stand out better, hope you like it this way also, I just found the right side distracting

bmxdad: Thanks for the compliment. It was a bit of a challenge trying to get that focus just right. I had so many perfectly focused branch shots lol. Gotta love the D300's AF that's for sure.

I took this shot back in April. Didn't think it turned out that great so I never did anything with it. After looking at it today, I decided that it's useful. This species is endangered in Southern California:

Contrast that with a minor dust storm we're having in Sydney (brown hazy skies at the moment) lol.
