Noise ninja. I really don't like the noise reduction or sharpening tools in Capture One - they tend to leave artefacts unless you're really careful. TBH, a lot of the time I leave the luminance noise and just deal with the colour noise - then it just looks like coarse grain and I kinda like it.

Poster, compare the deep dark shadows in Capture One to Lightroom, I do believe you'll see a night and day difference. The details in the blacks can not be beat by no means.

I love using layers in CS4 and the $70 Noise Ninja plug in. I feel this combination cannot be beat and both programs are set up very well to help you deal with the noise issue.

I usually convert my images to BW anyway so I am never afraid to go all the way up in ISO. I use it if I need it.

I have to agree with pabnj , Capture One does really leave a film grain type of look.

I will have to look into Dfine and noise Ninja. Will see what's the fuss about. For now I only have the trial of the Capture One 5, I think it's okay. Personally I prefer Lightroom, just for the sake of having the dodge and burn tool.

I truly like Capture One 5 noise removal capability. I have found in many instances the noise looks like a pleasant film grain afterwards without destroying detail. I also like to use Neat Image, Noise Ninja when and Photoshop. Depending on the photo, sometimes it is easier to get better results in one program than the other.

I almost exclusively use DFine. But before I got the Nik suite, I got Noise Ninja, and I still use that sometimes. They're both excellent. Of course, I try so very hard to never have to pump up my ISO. But, for the shot you just can't get without a high ISO, DFine is my go-to software.

Alright guys,

So what's the best noise removal software, which will still keep somewhat detail in your photos?

I usually use Lightroom 3 and I just started using Capture One 5, but I haven't really ever bothered with fixing the noise in my images. But I gotta try it at some point, right?

So what's your best bet at preserving quality of the photo while removing the noise?
