agree with mb - nikon's VR is more advanced than the current canon one (don't know about the hybrid, but for now there's no lenses with it)

Nikon has two sensors normal and active VR already and also unique center before shot technology and they are also in continuous development, do not just fall for this new marketing name.

Well give Nikon some time. I'm sure they've got something in their R/D department.

I love my Nikons, I really do. I've used them all my life. But the Nikon folks seems to have gone to sleep. I'm seeing revolutionary developments from Olympus and Canon, yet nothing even tempting from Nikon. I saw Adamz post about some things on the near horizon...gotta tell ya if Nikon doesn't step up soon they will be in 3rd behind Canon and Olympus.

Or, maybe I'm wrong and next week they'll announce a new whiz-bang doo-hickey that cause everyone rush out, buy one and end the current resession.

Or not.

canon has announced the "world's first" hybrid image stabilizer for lenses to be release this year 2009. Could Nikon be developing this tech for it's upcoming lenses too? I hope so.
