This past weekend I rented a D7000 and the 70-200 lens to shoot a charity hockey game. I'm still using a D70 so the D7000 is a big step up. Id like to get in to shooting sports more. Especially ice hockey. Here's what I learned while shooting the game.

I'd need a much bigger buffer. I was only getting 10 shots in RAW format before having to wait.

I'd need an FX body. Standing at center ice, the extra zoom from the DX body really limits the shots of movement up the ice.

I need to be all around better at photography. I shot in aperture priority with the ISO at 1000. The white ice really confused the camera and I should have adjusted the exposure a bit.

I need a D4... Hahaha.

Ill be anxiously awaiting the fall announcements and hopefully they'll come out with something that will fit my needs at doesn't cost as much as my truck. ;)
