in EU we are living in caves and google request we are sending in bottles trough river and answers come back by pigeons ... (4 weeks lag)

At least in the USA, Google is one of the strongest computer "search engines" And, when we take a word and "Google" it, we will find a list of links which include several dictionary resources. Thus, we will find the definition of a word by using Google.

If you look at the speedometer of most cars from the passenger seat you will see a different speed indicated than the driver will. How that applies to your problem is if you were holding the camera with the screen towards your face instead of looking down directly onto the top of the camera you would see the white line pointing at the wrong letter.

i tried clean camera contacts, change lenses, 2 button reset-3x and custom settings reset and all works ...

Im normal user, no weather extremes ... cold warm oder dirty ... for those situations i have d5k ...

Im using mostly 35mm 1.8 and 70-200 2.8, im carefully with my cameras ...

everything work good ... one time i get camera from the closet and not works ...
thats the reason why i dont understand it ...

The other question was if this is a new problem. How long has it been acting in this strange way? And, did it get exposed to water, sand, dirt, or other weather extreme...high temperature or freezing cold? Is there a battery problem, dirty contacts, and how many exposures on the body...1000, 10,000, or more?

It really makes little difference as to the answers, but the forum folks may wish to know more about this. The solution, is as "call me crazy" PB PM said...."send it to NIKON to be fixed."

it is not mechanical problem .... i think its software problem ...

i have d7k i think around 1.5y.

Is this parallax error? Are you aligning the letters with the correct mark?

Sorry if that is too obvious, but I hadta ask....

How long have you had it? Did you have this problem at the very beginning of ownership?

If the modes are in correct order, the easiest thing to do would be to tape a sticker with the mode labels on top of the dial. The next thing in difficulty would be removing the dialpad and putting it back in the correct orientation.

Call me crazy, but the solution seems simple, send it to Nikon to be fixed...

I have this problem with my d7k

When i on Dial mode set:
- Manual program i have Aperture priority
- when i set: Aperture priority i have S - time priority
- when i set S - time priority i have P and etc ...

Is there any solution how to fix this ?

now im shooting only manual so now im using Profil U1 where i have manual mode ...

i tried: firmaware upgrade, 2 button factory reset, other lenses .... nothing helps
