@NSX - I don't have any problems with viewing the page @2560x1440 - using Safari, font size is default and it looks ok. I like the black background as it gives my eyes huge relief (browsing this mostly during nighttime)

Speaking of a new layout, I'm loving this "randomly go back in time 14 hours bit"! ;)

I'll take this as proof the CERN neutrino experiment allows time travel!

Best of luck with the dual-server w/load balancing migration issues. Losing half a day of posts ain't no big thing.

@casper, thanks but I actually already figured that, although the actual logo is black on yellow background so maybe.... just saying.

@NSX, thanks for the tip. It's useful but I kinda have this... err.. preconception that that's what "old" people do and I'm not that old so... '^_^

Ok, well it looks like I'm pretty much the only one that feels that way so don't mind me then.

I keep increasing font as I read a lot of text on computers. It cuts down on eye strain. Why should reading on a computer be difficult?

And to comfort you, I'm 21, but I'm also reading on a 13 inch laptop most of the time. If I need to squint or reposition my reading position, I'm making the font larger to make my life easy.

If you're using Firefox, get NoSquint, it remembers all your text zoom positions.

I don't want to come off as disrespectful towards admin or anything but I just have a little suggestion about the forum:

[NR] admin, is it possible to consider changing the theme into something with light background and black font? I do agree that the general forum theme of black background and yellow font is very unique and even pretty however when it comes to the threads themselves, it's a little hard on the eyes to read especially with paragraphs consisting of more than a two or three lines. I've also noticed that some members have gotten into the habit of writing there posts as one sentence per paragraph so as not to make everything feels like it's running into each other.

Are there any other forum members that feel the same way I do?

Never knew of any board where the threads stayed on track. That's NORMAL - and by the way, IMHO, healthy for the growth of the community. It isn't though, an excuse for providing simple contemporary board tools to help the viewer sort out what has read and what hasn't.

It's not an excuse it's just the way this forum is set up. I've never seen a forum with a black background and yellow font either but that's what makes this forum unique. And besides this forum is run by us on a "part-time" basis so it is what it is. We can't hold your hand and do everything for you.

But 5stringz, isn't latest discussions what shows up by default for you? I've never clicked the latest discussions link.

Yep, it does, but with a slightly different view. Thanks for calling that to my attention. I didn't notice that before.

As I look closer, the "standard view" you land on is labeled at the top LATEST DISCUSSIONS and includes the sticky posts. If you glance at the "time" column, it displays times from all over the place. This confused me. Then, if you do click the LATEST DISCUSSION link found near the bottom of the page, you will get a much clearer view of what is "new". It would be my preference to use most of the time.

I have been using multiple tabs in FF to navigate relatively painlessly. There has to be an easier way tho. ;-)

Again, most boards understand that users come and go. They provide an easy method of tracking what you have read. Maybe that is here and I haven't found it yet. Still getting acclimated. :-)

You'll get use to it 5stringz. Besides this way you actually know what each thread is SUPPOSE to be about. Members tend to get waaaay off topic so the replies often have nothing to do with the original post.
