I know (I'm in the Netherlands as well), but Mediamarkt offers the body for 1750 normally, last week brought major discounts, bringing the price down to only 1500 euros. Which is incredible, I know :)

Still, they couldn't tell me anything about how long it'd take. Could be days, could be weeks. I kind of need to know when it'll be in since then I'll know whether or not I can accept certain assignments.

most retails in the uK have them in stock , but not at 1500 Euro the going rate is £1849

Dear all,

Last week I finally ordered my copy of the D700. I've considered waiting for its replacement but since it seems impossible to make a good estimation of when that will arrive, and the fact that it'll be way more expensive than the D700 currently is, I decided to purchase now. The body being offered for 1500 euro did help :)

However, at the store, no one could really tell me when the body'd be in stock. They were of absolutely no help. So my question: does anybody have any information on when to expect shippings from Japan? Or to be more precise: where could I possibly get some information on when some D700 bodies will arrive in my country / city? Would you guys reckon that if I called Nikon, they'd tell me?
