If you can, I would love to get your opinion of the Sony NEX-6 (or NEX-5R if no 6 is available), especially the autofocus performance now that they're putting phase contrast AF on-chip. I've tried it on the Nikon 1 models and I like it, but I prefer the bigger sensor of the NEX line so I want to know if Sony has it right, too. Have fun!

Anyways, the reason I bumped this was not to boast about attending this, but for the fact that I want to give something to the community. I was thinking about purchasing and/or donating a few t-shirts and whatever else they may offer as momentos and have some sort of competition to dish them out exclusively to Nikonrumor members.

That being said, any suggestions on how we could go about a competition and what it would be? My only suggestion would be that to be eligible to participate, you would need X amount of legitimate posts.

Any thoughts?

Funny you mention the Koln Dom, considering this is the time of the year shortly following Photokina when tons of shots of it show up.

Darkhost anything relating to Nikon, Zeiss and it would be awesome if you had any info on the Leica M10 :) Lucky guy! I went to the digital imaging exhibition in Korea this past spring and it was very well done. It was so nice looking at stuff that normally only sells over the internet or at a store like B&H in New York. Really cool stuff like Singh Ray, Hoodman, and Really Right stuff were all on display. I dropped some coin that day haha

I'm super excited to attend. I actually just attended Gamescom at the same location last month for fun (it was insane considering the size of the complex) so I'm familiar with the halls now. I'm pretty surpised that more people from the forum aren't attending. I'll get as many pictures as possible. Are there any particular requests?

Nice work using the search function Darkhost^^ Of all the years to attend this would be the one to make it I think. Sounds like it might be the best ever with significant releases from every major manufacturer. Even Zeiss is getting in there with something interesting. You are a lucky guy to be possibly going on the 19th or 20th. Very cool :)

Not to revive an old thread, but to avoid creating a new one...anyone going this year, 2012? I'll be there on the 19th and may attend the following day depending on if I see everything I want to see.

Photokina is the biggest photo-related show in the world and it will take place in Cologne, Germany (Sept 21-26).
Are any of the forum members planing to attend? Has anyone attended in previous years? How was it?

I am planning to go and already made a hotel reservation but I think I will have a hard time getting another week off from work (my regular job, not NR).
