PacificEagle and Gentoo your pics are so sharp. Makes me strive to better my photos.

I was out at 3rd beach in Stanley park a couple of days ago and caught some Oyster Catchers in the Surf.

Went for a walk today and randomly I was surrounded by eagles in Lighthouse park. I snapped a few photos I'll have them up on flickr at some point.

Gentoo I love the detail in your Chickadee right around the stomach great stuff. Really close..

Those Sandhill cranes in the second photo were oblivious to us being so close...I got some even closer pics but it was actually too close to be using the sigma 150-500 I had on there. crazy

AESnakes, I really like your second bird shot. Everything about it. Gentoo - I don't know anything about birds and everything I know about bird photography I learned from your thread, but I think this is my second favorite of yours I have seen. I really like the background and focus. My very favorite is the first Anna's Hummingbird that you posted...

Ah yes. Your Chickadee is a Chestnut-Backed. I'm not used to seeing them with the chestnut sides. Mine look like my photo for the day:

South of far northern California, they only have the chestnut color on the back. This was in Oakland, Ca.

Thanks NikoDoby and Gentoo, these were shot in Vancouver Bc Canada, not too far from the US though about 30 mins from the border.

Nice Chickadee (tit) and crane shots. I'm not sure if this was shot in the US. If so, the Chickadees colors look a bit off and not quite like any species I can identify.

The cranes are Sandhill Cranes I believe.

Went shooting a the Bird Sanctuary today with my friend Santiago, got a few ok shots nothing spectacular.
