Since the spammers are at it again with this thread and the D7000 is pretty much starting to become readily available I think it's time to retire this thread. I perdict that the "D800 current release date- and current availability" thread will break this thread's 22 page and 540 posts record!

Here is what I did, I hope it helps. I purchased kit from (*LINK REMOVED*) I started a chat from their website, asked them to check stock and confirm. I told them I did not want to order if not in stock. Guy on chat said they had them but very limited, he asked for my phone number and a minute later he called. I ordered, did 2nd day air and got it for New Years Eve. I know abt isn't B&H or Adorama but they had them so I jumped. Price was 1499.95 no tax. I think shipping would have been free for ground, but I wanted it fast. Very happy with them.

I originally ordered my D7000 body from Adorama on 12/1/10, but last Friday I was able to locate a D7000 body at Dodd Camera (Ohio), and have since canceled my Adorama order. Just received the body today. Hope that helps someone else as well!

Knowing how heavily back-ordered new releases can be,(and that I don't think any manufacturer ever sends sufficient units to fulfil all of a retailer's back orders immediately, pre-ordering is the most reliable way to ensure that you are in line for early allocation.

Thank you very much for the info. Can you also provide the following information. Which date was the last fulfillment of a D7000 Body only. This will at least tell where in the queue my order of Nov 23rd is. IS Adorama filling orders from Oct or Nov etc

I think this came up a few pages back and it happens because they just recived a shippment and the computer system put´s it in stock. Then the warehouse takes the product and pairs them to the oldest orders on the waiting list so they arn´t cheating anyone :) Nice to hear that the units are rolling in... i´m hoping to get an shipping confirmation next week (ordered Dec 1st).

Yes, for those of you that still want a D7000, like, NOW . . . I've noticed that body + lens kits (Best Buy doesn't sell body-only kits) are in fact, continuing to trickle in at local Best Buy retailers in the Los Angeles area. Seems like, perhaps, a couple bodies every week or two, per store. About a month ago, a Best Buy sales associate even called me to let me know he had one come in (I had already purchased my D7000 kit earlier at another Best Buy).

Also, the 10% Best Buy discount coupon, available from the USPS' moving kit, is still valid, and since the D7000 kits are being sold at "regular price," and not on "on sale," the 10% Best Buy discount coupon is definitely applicable to the purchase of a D7000 kit. For Angelenos, this at least spares you from our sky-high Los Angeles County state sales tax rate of 9.750%. Although I did sign up for Best Buy's mobile coupons program, the "current" 12% discount coupon expired a few weeks ago, and is no longer valid.

I just ordered the body-only with 18-200mm on Amazon two days ago, and got a $250 instant discount for this pair. The lens is on the way and will be delivered to me today. But I have no idea how long I'll have to wait for the camera.

Today, I checked on Amazon to find that that discount is not available for D7000 anymore!?! But the lens price itself is already $100 cheaper than when I bought it :(

If anybody's in NJ (or doesn't mind a schlep from NY), the Best Buy on 17 in Paramus had a kit in stock when I went in there today. Just an FYI.

I ordered on Dec 1st and haven´t recived yet. But i did notice that the price is around 90$ higher now then when i bought it and the sd memory card has also been upped by 45 cent. Kinda funny because the only reason i looked at the memory card price was because i recived an e-mail from Adorama that they were on sale so i expected lower prices but they were actually higher.

I received mine from Amazon on the 28th and cancelled my Adorama order. It won't help you javabuddha since I ordered after you, but it should help those that ordered after Nov 26.
