  • Spy Black

The psychedelic one is definitely cool. I guess they’re just for G models.

    • Pat Mann

      50 1.8 for sure.

    • gjh

it is not cool in my eyes….

      • Spy Black

You must be a lot of fun at parties…

      • theodoros Fotometria

lolipop lenses for lol & pop photographers

  • Ron Moone

    Groovy!

  • samseite

from some of reviews, “not align to each other or even fit this particular hood at all. They are not able to be used, even when trimmed they are just wrong. I don’t think proper measurements were taken because many of the pieces over lap and do not fit well”

    • jg

      reviews…. lol

  • Izedin

Little Too early for Aprils fools :-)

  • fjfjjj

    Photoshopped.

    • OnTheRopes

      I truly hope so

    • Pat Mann

The images are probably photoshopped (who would damage this many lenses to make the sales photos?), but the product is real, unless B&H let their April Fool pages out early.

      • jh

damage? unless I am missing something but I bet it peels off…

PS does make the most sense eitherway

    • arachnophilia

the products are definitely real, but i was always surprised at just how bad the photoshop job was on the product photos…

  • Aspegic

    Is it April 1st already?

    • kh

the real joke would be a guest post who highly praises and uses these and find it helps them produce better work since they are “At one” with their gear.

  • Peter

How much did you get paid for this post?

    • hg

don’t be condescending to the admin. He does good work.

      • Delmar Mineard Jr

Amen. He does an excellent job.

  • itcrashed

I bought skins for my trinity. Fitment is, to put it lightly, not perfect. I would not recommend them. Cap doesnt fit on the 14-24 once you put the skin on.

    • Rohan Polino

Well, that should teach you a lesson…

  • Steven Solidarios

Must be a slow news week.

    • gu

must be insert cliche, mundane, recycled, not funny the first time it was said comment day.

  • jon

These lensSkins images are photoshopped… it is not reflecting reality and should not be advertised on NR!!!! sorry admin you are wrong here.

    • Drazen B

And you really believe the “real” ones are any better?

      • hg

the real ones are probably worse because you have to be seen with them in public

  • Remedy

    Do want…NOT!!!!!!!!

  • Zoot

They look great. Do they make them in black?

    • Pat Mann

Yes, in fact, they do. B&H.

  • Davis5

it’s a low quality mockup… Never read photoshop for dummies?

  • simpletaste14

The horror of it all… Be it real or photoshopped…
Not all the money in the world can buy a little taste…

  • Ragnar

Garbage; poor fit, peel easily, no refunds. You do your readers a dis-service posting this.

  • fail

There is nothing cool about these.

  • nwcs

    For the hipster in everyone…

    • kj

I have now concluded that those you say “hipster” are in fact trying to be trendy themselves and are the true hipsters at heart. They are hurt individuals that never could fit in with the cool crowd of the uncool. Ironically the hipsters and the other hipsters are all just that…judgmental hipsters who aren’t anything special at all. I like to call them people and yes, I am a hyprocrite but can we please stop calling people hipsters and while we are at it stop talking about bacon?

      • nwcs

LOL, “can’t we all just get along?”

  • doge

I guess that’s one way to insure no one will steal your equipment.

    • jh

Actually this is the best kind to steal…
photographer:” help my lens has been stolen”
officer: “what did the lens look like”
photographer: “it had a peacock design”

thief (walks over with a black lens)… “what seems to be the problem?”

      • doge

        Implying that thiefs are intelligent.

    • Neopulse

I agree, but not in this sense, prefer painting them to assure it’s less likely to be sold online.

  • Kynikos

Somewhere, Df hooters and soccer moms are having orgasms. If this isn’t Pure Photography(tm) and cat-photo-nirvana, what is?

    • ihy

hooters and soccer moms? is that intentional?

  • sloppy

a few things come to mind

    • lenses cost enough money without needing to spend more money on them with this nonsense.

    • I don’t care how well it sticks on, it is still something to get dinged etc. and increases the risk of pieces falling where they shouldn’t and collecting dirt, grime etc. I don’t want to pull out my lens with cat hair embedded on the side

    • What a great way to give new photographers a selling feature. “wow, they are so trendy and creative, they shot my wedding with these funky looking lenses, you should hire them..”.

    • I can understand wanting a nice leather case on a retro styled camera or caring about the appearance of your gear to some degree (i.e choosing a black lens over the bright pink polka dotted one if that was an option). I admit I may purchase a toaster or a blender that looks nice, so I get it but this is like airbrushing a design on a cordless drill or something. DSLRs aren’t even really that nice looking. They are big bulky etc… and this just draws attention too it.

Sure these may appeal to perhaps 14 year olds? They don’t even have the cash to even own a 70-200 since that is probably the ones who will find most interest in it. The only benefit I can see is your lenses caps will be more easily identifiable and I don’t even use them.

I am sick of dumb gimmicks like this. Maybe I am old and bitter but this is just tacky and I file it under gold teeth, chain steering wheels and car spoilers that actually degrade the performance on the vehicle.

    • zoetmb

While I agree that these are tacky as hell, if they peel off easily enough without leaving any residue, they might actually PREVENT the lens body from getting dinged, scratched or having the paint wear off on edges.

And if someone does think they look nice (even if they don’t), what’s the big deal? And yes, I do think you sound “old and bitter”.

  • gh

These are worse than someone wearing a bad shirt…

  • 123

Remember the guy way back who painted all his gear in dessert camo type paint? I bet he is kicking himself now…

  • rafakoy

I’m having fun reading the bad comments from people who bought there decals… they seem to be awful. Here is a picture of one of the buyers. It seems in some case the sizes of the decals don’t even match the product size.

    • zoetmb

Maybe, but how do we know whether that consumer is using the correct hood for the lens? I mix up my hoods all the time.

      • TheInconvenientRuth

If your visual acuity is not adequate enough see the difference between lens hoods, perhaps photography is not the right hobby for you?

    • Spy Black

Seems they don’t know how to photograph either…

    • lord eels

looks like a 70-200vr1 sized decal on a 70-200vr2 hood

  • Espen4u

The tackiest must be the white one (the one that emulates a Canon lens)

  • ninpou_kobanashi

Is there like a website from LensSkins that shows the patterns? B&H doesn’t count.

  • Pat Bélisle

Finally! Now there is only ”D400” on my wishlist since I already checked ”A cool looking overpriced single SD slot non-video SLR”, ”A Nikkor 35mm less sharp, slower and more expensive than Sigma’s 35mm lens” and ”Another Nikon 1 mirrorless (Make it ViewFinderless also…)

    • Pat Bélisle

Before you tell me, I know those stickers are not Nikon…

  • Mardock

Just what I need: a Haight-Ashbury edition lens.

  • Daddy O

Honestly. Can one of you native trolls like Spooge Black, Aldo coffe mug face, lord squeels, or inconvenientQueef please tell me WHY this
stuff bothers you so much? You get so bent out of shape and you make fun of people that most likely don’t read this crap and I wonder WHY? Does it hurt your pride somehow?

And dudes. If you don’t know what a hipster is just STFU. A hipster wouldn’t use this. Stop learning your vernacular slurs from camera nerd sites. Most of you don’t even know what a hipster is. Probably because you live in some tiny little town in Shitkicker USA. That’s why instead of taking photos you hang out on this forum and bitch about everything.

Stop worrying about other people and figure out you own shit.

  • Carlos

Oh! You camera body is not visible enough? Needs more? Thats the answer!! LOL :)))

  • Manvin

Lol that actually remind me of Neil van niekerk, he also applied on his lens as well. To be honest I didn’t like the idea!
