This works much better than the WT-5. Better Range and it is plug and play with a better price as well. http://www.amazon.com/TP-LINK-TL-MR3040-Wireless-Portable-Compatible/dp/B0088PPFP4/ref=cm_cr-mr-title

“makes it possible to operate camera controls on your Nikon D4 (not included)….”
Nikon knows the price tag is so ridiculous that custmoers may think its Camera Included :-)

Has anyone gotten a shipping confirmation yet? I pre ordered mine at a shop in Columbus, Ohio and just called and they haven’t heard anything yet. I’m third in line and am hoping to pick up this week.

why is this wifi (a/b/g not even n) transmitter so expensive ? Even 10 times cheaper it wouldn’t have been a bargain..

  • nikondummy

Nikon is fucking retarded with the price of that wifi thing. Actually, Nikon has been really retarded with everything they’ve been doing for the past couple of years. Did Fukushima melt the collective brain cells at Nikon?

    • lord eels

      ugh

    • Naval Gunfire

Have you seen the price of the Canon wi-fi offerings? No cheap either!

    • Mr. Mamiya

They are even more retarded with their D800 wifi “solution”. First a huge UT-1 LAN adapter, and then the additional WT-5. WTF!

And at the same time their cheap WU-1 a/b works well with the D800, when you do just a little hardware hack. So ridiculous.

  • Michal Zdunek

so where is the D5 or the D800X ? or what about the D400 for my little brother… Nikon is starting to p1ss me off !

    • Naval Gunfire

New Dx line every four or so years so we’ve a while yet before the D5.

  • JoCarpenter

I’ve seen a Samsung point and shoot with wifi for $69. Why is Nikon’s wifi solution so expensive?

    • lord eels

well, google “price elasticity of demand”. you are confused. this is a specialty add-on to a specialty camera. they teach this stuff in actual Econ 101, Einstein.

  • mike

what about my D5300??? Without pc connection support the wifi is preaty mutch useless to me. What a waste. Is there any hope that the d5300 will be supported?
