Is this the Nikon Df camera in silver?

Nikon-Df-camera-silver
I am not convinced that this picture of a silver Nikon Df camera is real, but it looks very similar to the previous Df images from the teaser video:

this one is from Kaiser and is the black version of Df. Il really looks awsome!

    • http://nikonrumors.com/ Nikon Rumors

It’s not – it’s a mockup previously posted here. I deleted the comment.

      • Marko Drazic
        • http://nikonrumors.com/ Nikon Rumors

100% fake – we went through this already

          • http://ohm-image.net/ ohm image

Too bad. That looks way better than what I think I’m seeing the Df become. It really is a frankenkamera. I may purchase one but the more that is revealed, the less I like anything but the shutter sound. Of course, I was one of those FE wanters, not F3 wanters.

            • addri4n

this silver version presented here is very ugly!

            • http://ohm-image.net/ ohm image

We certainly agree here. I’ll be the first to admit that what I’m primarily looking for (besides light, sturdy and compact) is looks. Manual ergonomics are big for me as I’m not a sport shooter and have always found an FE to be way easier to grip (with the shutter advance lever cocked around my thumb) than a contemporary Nikon with a large grip.

Aside from easy set up of pre-80’s cameras, the looks were so simple, so direct, so self explanatory. I miss that day. I would not be excited if a metalised D600 came out with the D4 sensor.

Only if that camera were built to run and look like an FE. This one is just a bit too button happy for me.

        • voidnaught

that’s a mockup for sure the shutter button ev comp button and shutter speed dial are all off an x100

        • CoffeeGeeker

Extremely fake. They pulled the dials from the Fuji X series.

  • http://nikonrumors.com/ Nikon Rumors

    I will delete this link.

  • arcsif

Let’s hope this is a fake… The handgrip is totally out of proportion. I also don’t understand the red dot on the left…

    • http://kyleclements.com/ Kyle Clements

The red dot is photography’s way of telling you the camera is very, very, unbelievable, absurdly extremely expensive.

  • `/1nc3nt

Resembles an FG which I hated

  • Welfare Guy

Can I use my EBT card to buy one of these?

  • Kynikos

I guess the big red splotch on the left is meant to compete with Leica?

    • addri4n

the red dott is to keep the Df logo secret

  • http://www.davidkasman.com/ David Kasman

It has a photo-shopped look and it is a crude bizarre photo, but it is a lot closer than the other mock ups. Tough to tell whether real or not because the photo is so poor.

  • Travis

Looks very real. Red dot is to hide the camera name. And it does not looks that pretty actually…

  • gefa

It’s got a Leica red dot!!!!

  • http://Flickr.com/inthemist InTheMist

If it is real, this angle is UGLY.

But still, it looks like a ‘shop to me.

  • http://the.me/ DanTHEME

Don’t let that handgrip or anything remotely similar become reality!!

    • OMartin

It seems to fit the still taken from the videos, I am afraid. I was hoping for a detachable grip at least, but I doubt it

  • mustha

    it’s it!

  • john

    the silver is doomed.

  • Bill Pahnelas

    hell, why not?

(hey guys, just a few more hours and then we’ll really have something to talk about. wonder what percentage of the previous banter on here will be found to be total BS?)

    • http://Flickr.com/inthemist InTheMist

      My banter for sure!
Bill’s right, please let it all end.

  • junior

I would bet that this is it. Everything looks in place.
    Looks fugly, too.

    • Eric Calabros

      and reflective sliver? NO!!!

  • Jason

I like it. I’d rock a “classic” looking Df.

  • Alex Hamilton

  • Cesar

    Wow that’s uglay!

  • Gary Nothstein

    BAM! AGAIN!

  • mik

    Uaaau!!! Really compact! :-DDD

  • Piggy White

Yes, this is it. 100% accurate.

    • http://Flickr.com/inthemist InTheMist

      100% hideous!

    • tap0

Piggy White, any pointers to the price ?

      • Piggy White

Think D800, from what I heard.

        • Eric Calabros

          damn it

        • http://www.davidkasman.com/ David Kasman

          Makes sense.

    • Guest

      Take a closer look.

  • http://Flickr.com/inthemist InTheMist

    That’s Mike B’s mockup.

And everyone please stop posting that Panda link – 100% fake based on this same image.

    • Gary Nothstein

      :(

    • http://www.davidkasman.com/ David Kasman

If so, it looks more acceptable smaller. That explains it.

    • http://nikonrumors.com/ Nikon Rumors

Thank you! I am deleting every link. We just discussed that 15 min ago in the previous post.

      • http://www.davidkasman.com/ David Kasman

        Please do. It is bogus.

    • OMartin

Yes, the rewind crank is from an old camera, shutter wheel likewise. We have already seen on the films that the shutter wheel is double layered.

      • http://www.davidkasman.com/ David Kasman

        I noticed that too.

  • http://www.davidkasman.com/ David Kasman

At first, I thought this looked right but now I’m not as sure. The “Nikon” logo has changed changed and a few other details look a bit off. Not sure what to make of it.

  • Louis PhaNikon

    what with the red dot?

    • http://Flickr.com/inthemist InTheMist

A little bit of vomit left over from the guy who took the picture, and soon after turned to stone?

(Speculation below is it covers the “DF” logo)

      • http://www.davidkasman.com/ David Kasman

        My thought too.

    • OMartin

      just hiding the logo

  • CoffeeGeeker

Wow. So I guess they are bringing film back. This photo you’re posting has a film rewind crank on the camera’s right side (from front). /sarcasm ;)

  • VK

    Unfortunately it looks legit….

    • Eric Calabros

      Unfortunately

    • Carl

      Looks a bit busy…

  • Mrz

    yes

    • Mrz

      back

      • Mrz

        whoop

        • Gary Nothstein

          we have a winner!?

          • VK

            I think so!

        • sperdynamite

If this is legit then I’m so fucking on board. Hate that PASM dial, though I get why they need it.

        • VK

Bulkier than I expected, but all right controls are there!

        • D800GUY

OMFG this is legit! I am getting a fizzy feeling down under…

        • Last Mohican

Woohoo, there’s the fabled kasane-age shiki dial!

        • Nawab

top view is the real killer

        • StarF

          Real Cooooooooool!

        • jakku

          OMG. So sexy!!!

        • Eric Calabros

          Yea, Made in Japan

        • Cesar

          Ooh yeah that’s sweet!

        • Cesar

          Uh oh… 1/4000….

          • Cesar

Nice how it starts at ISO 100 though!

        • frank

the design would be (almost) perfect if it didn’t have that ugly grip…

          • Vin

Would have been nice if grip was accessory. Then it could come in a extra battery grip like old motor drive.

          • Cantwell

Eh, it looks really rushed. Have a look at where they put the shutter release in relation to the grip and the cm? of space they used for the m/a/s/p dial.

        • http://www.rmjphotography.net/ RMJ

          nice!!!

        • DBPhoto

          Oh Boy!!

      • Sahaja

Three doors on the left – and no video? I guess one hides a 10 pin connector if that is a regular PC sync on the front.

    • http://Flickr.com/inthemist InTheMist

      Ohhhhh…. That’s nicer.

Whoever took Admin’s leaked picture needs his photographic licence taken away.

    • dave

      wow!

    • http://Flickr.com/inthemist InTheMist

      THANK YOU Mrz!!

      • http://nikonrumors.com/ Nikon Rumors

Yes! thanks for the first real Df images. Do you have more?

        • Mrz

          This one

          • Mrz

            And this

            • Cesar

Wow… so the reddot images was real too… strange how I hated that one and love this one. I don’t understand myself!

            • http://Flickr.com/inthemist InTheMist

The photographer who made the original image should be neutered for the benefit of the photographic gene pool.

              Taken with a Sony A7, I heard ;)

            • Eric Calabros

studio pictures always look better than smartphone snapshots of course :-)

            • http://nikonrumors.com/ Nikon Rumors

              Thank you!

            • http://nikonrumors.com/ Nikon Rumors

              Do you know the price?

            • Mrz

You are welcome! Don’t know anything more, sorry

            • http://nikonrumors.com/ Nikon Rumors

              Thanks!

            • Jaz

Thank you Mrz, sir! Now let’s take a good look at its’ bottom… Bottom :P

  • per

That looks like it. And with a beautiful view of the kasaneage-shiki.

    • Last Mohican

Here we go. Wonder though what the right hand’s doing? The left holds the camera, and the right counts the bills?

  • Samik ‘Jonak’ Ghosh

Looks fake to me. I was thinking to replace my D700 with this so that I have the DF and the D4 for my wedding work but I don’t think this will go well ergonomically with the Fx lenses. At least the looks don’t appeal me.

  • shao

This is what I think about the silver one…
    http://img51.imageshack.us/img51/5016/9kvu.jpg

  • leicaleicaleica:)

This is damn ugly.. Neither fish nor fowl. Hope it will look not like this.

    • Eric Calabros

Hope? But you said %100 accurate

    • http://www.davidkasman.com/ David Kasman

Even if this is the real camera, it is still difficult to get a handle on how it really looks. There is a lot of foreshortening and the photo sucks.

  • VK

    Thanks, Mrz!!! you’re the winner!

  • Michael

Gee, it looks like for retro inspiration they went all the way back to the N60!

  • VK

    Admin,
please open new thread to discuss Mrz ‘ images.

  • http://www.davidkasman.com/ David Kasman

Even if the camera image is really of the Df, I suspect the background has been photo shopped to hide where the picture was actually taken. It is bizarre to say the least, and as I said, the camera is “floating”.

  • Chuck

    sold.

  • cometchaser

    this is it. oh yeh

    • xt

looks nice..and strange. retro in front and modern at back……………

    • OMartin

Hell yes!!! Real focus on manual control, looks great!!
Direct control to ISO, exposure adjustment, shutter and aperture

  • CRB

looks like the same size of a pentax K3…

    • jimmy

Bet it doesn’t put fog on the lenses though b4 each shot

  • Jaz

    Nikon Df = Nikon DOUBLEface

  • Z

    What, no video?

    • Eric Calabros

      good morning

  • karunphoto

If this is real the price sandwiches between D600-D800, i just need to see the final specs… Im gonna get this rugged looking machine.. The grip might be useful in handling but costing looks. The D600-like back isn’t very good looking. The lens looks plasticky and kinda cheap too. Just Looooooveeee it!!!!

  • intergalactic_turkey

Nice. Make it 999$ and I buy it.

  • Sahaja

No one will confuse this with a Canon.

  • SomeofthePeople….

Of course it is that’s why Nikon gave you this picture.
    Doh!

  • D.Vermaas

As a retired Pro, I’m completely baffled with Nikon and their clever Advertisement strategy. Yet, more with the raving comments coming, as I presume, from amateurs who expect results of a camera they can obtain with several/many more. At least if they are competent! Looking at the results on pixel peeper I have my doubts.
