Thank you Admin. you’re in Turbo Mode today

    • http://nikonrumors.com/ Nikon Rumors

I still have a lot of catching up to do.

      • The Wayne

Any of that catching up have to do with a 300mm f4 VR????? I’m losing sleep waiting for this lens.

  • Crackity Jones

Rebate on the D800E? It can only mean one thing:
    D810E NOW!
Nikon will humbly fix the glaring flaw in the D800 — it is not a D700.

    • Andrew

Is anyone still waiting for the D700 replacement? Make do with the D610 and get them to focus on the D400.

      • Daniel

waiting for D700 replacement is like waiting for D90 successor

        • Andrew

So you did not buy the D7100?

        • Mansgame

The D90 replacement was actually a bonus because you got a camera closer to the D300 replacement for just a few hundred bucks more.

          • KnightPhoto

Agreed, the D90 replacement (D7000) was a SIGNIFICANT feature upgrade including a whole host of things. An important one for me was AF-Fine Tune and I had one on day-one of release, was a real bargain as far as I was concerned.

It was also the first Nikon camera with the remarkable ISO-less sensors.

The D7000 was my main camera glued to my 500VR for about 2 years.

    • Ben

Yes, the rebate makes me think the same… or is it just wishful thinking!?

  • Daniel Oh

Interesting. .. So why would these FX camera buyers want to buy a 55-300 DX lens together?

    • MostInterestingManInTheWorld

It’s not FX camera buyers wanting to buy a 55-300, but Nikon trying to swindle some pigeons into buying that piece of dung.

    • Daniel

55-300 works on FX around 70-300mm

  • Evilsivan

Off topic here but I would love a mirrorless f-mount with a big @ss sensor. Something like the EOS-M

    • Spy Black

You’ll have to get yourself a Sony α7 or α7R to do that, sans F-mount.

      • Neopulse

Dammit ya beat me to it.

        • Evilsivan

By big I mean as big as a aps-c not necessarily fx

          • Neopulse

Well you misled with the “big @ss sensor” comment.

    • KnightPhoto

Nikon has to be working feverishly on the Nikon 2 already (DX Mirrorless).

The Nikon 3 is delayed ;-)

  • Andrew

If I were Nikon, I will keep manufacturing the D600 to offer a true entry price for a full frame camera and market the D610 to the people who like new gears.

    • Imperious Images

Doubt there’s enough profit margin in the D600 after the prices continue to fall when the 610 comes out

      • Andrew

Well before the D600 was released, it was speculated by Nikon Rumors that it will be priced at $1,599. My guess is that he was correct but Nikon decided to increase the price at the last minute. I am aware of all the talk about the significant cost of manufacturing full frame sensors, but I somehow suspect that things have changed. I know I do not have any facts to back up my speculation but the fact that Nikon shaved a little off the price of the D610 may give us a slight clue.

  • itcrashed

D800 also has an instant rebate of $200 with the same freebies for $2796

  • Danny Eiserloh

Nikon simply ignores their customers. It’s time to switch to 7D MKII

    • Michele Perillo

No, it’s not. Besides, there is no such camera, and the rumored specie are underwhelming

    • Neopulse

Ummm what 7D MKII?? DO you ACTUALLY own one? STFU

  • Joseph Li

It’s very strange B&H is bundling all the DX lenses rebates with a D610…only 2 lenses are for FX bodies

    • Mansgame

and they’re pretty low end fx lenses too.

  • Neopulse

Damn, Nikon is definitely pulling out the big guns, D5300 (one of the most bought cameras in their DX lineup) and rebates for their updated/fixed full-frame intro camera. They seem somewhat desperate for something.

    • fred

A big lead-up to Christmas. Something for the stocking.

  • WhiteHotPhotos

I just can’t wait for somebody to actually USE one of these & shoot the heck out of it to see if the sensor spots are fixed now. After the spots I had with the D600 I am afraid to pre-order it. I would feel like such a sucker to have the same problem again.

  • Mansgame

These bundle deals stink. There is no 14-24, 24-70, or 70-200 in there. who would bundle a D800E with an 18-200dx, 55-200dx, or 55-300dx lens?
