Is this the back of the Nikon D600?

This picture of the back of the Nikon D600 looks legit fake (see full resolution at flickr). For comparison, here are the backs of the D7000 and D800 cameras:

    Without question, it’s a fake.

It’s a mixture of the two other pics: the lighting and shadows are identical.

    Go to Nikon’s web site:
    http://www.nikonusa.com/Nikon-Products/Product/Wireless/27081/WU-1a-Wireless-Mobile-Adapter.html

They mention D600 under key features of the WU-1a Wireless Mobile Adapter

    • ashwins

      Good catch!

    • Badburro

Another reason to get the D600 as a back-up to the D800E. Upon further reading, iOS software to control the camera will be available on 9/15/12 from the App Store.

    • UncleDusty

Does this mean it is Android compatible?

    • Gimme D600

First time I have seen an official mention of the D600 from Nikon themselves!

      Did you let Admin know?

I got few emails already, thanks to everyone that sent that in!

    • Tapo

Here is the complete text :

***The Wireless Mobile Adapter Utility Application must be installed on the smart device before it can be used with the WU-1b Wireless Mobile Adapter connected to the Nikon D600. The application can be downloaded free of charge from Google Play™. for use with an Android platform smartphone (2.3 series or later) and tablet (3.0 series or later). For the iOS mobile platform, the application can be downloaded free of charge from iTunes® online store on September 15, 2012 for use with iOS version 5.1 or 5.1.1.

        Already posted that online

      • Snap Snap

        They changed ‘D600′ to ‘D3200′ already :D

  • Andrew

    Fake, enough said!

Hm.. I was planning to buy the D600 to use with my 35mm/2.0.. I dont like alot of lenses, but instead prefer a 35mm or a 50mm lens on my camera.. I hate big cameras.. even my D5000 is to big and draws attention to itself.. I want FF in a small body with one sharp lens, NO ZOOM.
I felt like the D600 was a joke when I saw the Sony RX1.. http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/page/2/
Nikon should be ashamed, and so should the m43 gang with their extremely oversized cameras.
Also, check out the size-comparisons on sonyalpharumors.com

      Lol, GTFO.

      Mark

    • Pablo Ricasso

      Hey, you should compare THIS…

    • Daniel

      Sir,

You want a FF with only one sharp lens? Ok, go for the Sony… that´s what YOU need.

I need a good and affordable FF for my work, and with the rumored D600´s specs it will fill my needs for a good time! Again, some need Leicas, some need Cybershots….

I was planning on going to KFC, I don’t like extra crispy batter, hot wings or chicken in a bucket. I want small nuggets, say six, eight or even twelve, in a little box, then I saw Chick-fil-a, here’s a link…KFC is a JOKE and should be ASHAMED of themselves with their oversized chicken!

      zzzz….

      • Man@work

        :) great!

    • gt

Nikon should be ASHAMED? listen to the words that are coming out of your mouth. I feel like sometimes people become so obsessed with gear they lose their grip on reality

    • Snap Snap

Seriously??!! Get a P&S camera, u are too old for DSLR

  • olidie

Everthing about the D600 sounds good to me. All I now pray for is a dedicated AF-On button.

    • Stephen Cheatley

Good Call. I could make really good use of a dedicated AF-On button, but we’ll see.
I also hope the centre button in the control pad gives a 100% crop, not available even as an option on the D7000 Grrrrr!

  • Didi

This is a fake. Without a doubt. The surface around the screen display of the D600 looks like the D7000.

  • Goldsaint

Fake one. There’s no ISO button for D600

  • stormwatch

The only thing I don’t like on this Nikon is the absence of articulated screen, a must have for macro’s, extremely low horizont shooting and of course for video, come on people! That is not a feature of the amateur gear. That is why I adore D5100.
D600 with the articulated screen! A WINNER!

  • Ghoma

    Admin I checked this.

Download the D800 image in high res and compare the thumb rubber grip surface.

The pattern from the D800′s one and the D600 picture match. I don’t think there is any chance they can be the same. Shopped.

    • Postman

      Correct.

I noticed this, but it goes further too – if you examine the black flecked surface pattern of the main body, that too matches. For example; look at the surrounding section above the top right edge above the LCD. There are two distinctive groups of three darker black flecks. These flecks appear in both images.

The fact is the whole pattern is the same over most of the bodies (except where the D800 is not the donor image) but it’s areas like this where they’re easily spotted.

      Fake, unfortunately.

Well if the ones from the Malaysian Site are real, which seems so, then this is a fake…

This one has a single Rubber cover for the side connections, and the malaysian has multiple, plus all the other reasons stated above.. Definitly Fake, a good job, but fake..

  • http://www.jamesajohnsoniv.com James

Ah man, I knew that AF-On button was too good to be true.

  • Mike Martin

I SURE hope this is a fake. If the ok/enter button is now on the left row of buttons! It is going to take two hands to do anything! Amateur city!!!

I sure hope it is back in the middle of the multi-way selector like my D7k…
