Nikon ViewNX 2.5.1, Camera Control Pro 2.11.1 released

Today Nikon released ViewNX 2.5.1 for Windows and Camera Control Pro 2.11.1 for Macintosh. List of modifications:

  • Nikon ViewNX 2.5.1 changes: an issue that caused horizontal lines to appear in images printed at paper sizes of A3+ (329 x 483 mm) or larger without margins has been resolved.
  • Nikon Camera Control Pro 2.11.1 changes: an issue that prevented Camera Control Pro 2 recognising the D4 on Macintosh computers equipped with a PowerPC processor has been resolved.

Is Nikon getting ready for the new DSLR cameras like the D600 plus new CoolPix models?

I am not sure if there will be more Coolpix models. I have the feeling that Nikon used to announce more Cooklpix models in the Summer. They only had few new compact cameras this season.

why do they always release in europe 1st?

    • brian

Perhaps because the population of europe is more than double that of the US. Presumably its a much bigger and more important market to them because of that.

    • Ray

      Why wouldn’t they?

  • Hello World

Because they first ship Eastward !!

  • Hello World

And shipments heading Westward (America) usually leave months later…

    • brian

      Software updates don’t ship.

Maybe the us market just isn’t that important to them. First comes japan then Europe then the us. The us is hardly the centre of the universe.

      • brian

Except perhaps to those who live there.

If I’m not mistaken, the US is EAST of Japan.

    • SeeLarry

and Japan is East of Europe

just for the record: it’s also called the Far East ;-)

Nikon quit on refreshing the ViewNX so much and get your act together giving us Capture NX3 with a descent coding…

  • Dweeb

hahahahahahah another year, another Photokina and they still won’t re-do Capture NX. Just keep stringing along the suckers on the line with no more than model upgrade. No wonder you lost the way.

Oh man, just went to the NX2 (!!!) website. Seriously who would pay for Crapture NX???

  • Crapture LOL

I eagerly await the day that Nikon software is abandoned and full details of the secret recipes are given to third party developers. Otherwise, Lightroom 4 is doing a better job than viewnx or capture nx2 will ever do – even when they’re working… on a brand new Mac Pro and a 2011 Macbook Pro. :S
