Offline for few days

For the next two months, [NR] headquarter will be temporary moved to an undisclosed location in Europe and will operate on European time. In the next few days I will have limited Internet connectivity and will probably be offline. In the mean time, feel free to use the [NR] forum.

For those of you who are new to [NR] and are eager to know what's next for Nikon, I have to remind you that the rumor mill always comes to a halt after an official announcement. I will continue to publish only information I feel comfortable with, instead of filing the site with wild guesses and worthless speculations. I can publish rumors like this all day long, but if you want serious and reliable stuff, sit tight and enjoy the ride. I will continue to post other interesting Nikon related topics and guest posts until I start receiving some good "intelligence" again. I expect things to pick up again at the end of June.

Thanks for being a reader.

  • Maddog

“..an undisclosed location in Europe..” Sounds very James Bond…

    • Banned

That’s because it’s Poland, Romania or some other glamorous European destination not worth mentioning lol.

      • David

Why would those countries not be worth mentioning?
I realize this is not the place for such talk, but I could not resist.

          It’s just dirty

this guy specializes in making negative comments. He lives here, like some legendary creature who lives under a bridge. Someday he will get a life and we will be free of his annoyances. See below.

      • spass

Indeed, terrible countries. Never go there!

      • Paul

        NikonRumorsRumors.

  • kaze kaze

umm… since when it starting to turn into some “customer service centre/ call centre” (hint: “undisclosed location” and “limited… access”)?

    • http://nikonrumors.com/ [NR] admin

    • Paul

      Haha, well done.

  • Anonymus Maximus

Thank you very very much for your publishing and networking work and for excersising your discretion wisely.

I like NR as it is with (substantiated) Rumors, Nikon news and Nikon Trivia, for it works in the just right mix.

    Welcome in good old Europe!

I guess ‘an undisclosed location in Europe ‘ means you are travelling around.

    Have a good time!

Are you moving house Admin? :o

    • http://nikonrumors.com/ [NR] admin

      • Paul

So when you mean Nikon Headquarters, you mean your physical self?

Enjoy your time in Euro land.

      Up until now…

    • http://nikonrumors.com/ [NR] admin

      same here :)

      • The invisible man

Well, I can tell you that the Euro will go DOWN soon, we may see it equal to one dollar by the end of the year, and that’s bad news for me.
        :(

        • ShaoLynx

          Keep on dreaming, pal.

  • http://ronscubadiver.wordpress.com Ron Scubadiver

Perhaps you will see Dick Chaney at the undisclosed location. If you have any choice, you should go to Sorrento, Italy. The place is full of beautiful scenery and beautiful women. For the true intensity of a city with non stop street photography opportunities go to Madrid. (I have only been home from there for a week.)

I hope he doesn’t take his cameras or wallet when visiting Italy, that’s all I’m gonna say.

Man just saw your galleries what a creep! No artistic merit. Is this a fetish?

How old is that girl? Not old enough to vote, that’s for sure.

          • http://dundermifflin.com dwight schrute
            • LOL

              You’d prefer little boys?

Dude, the guys just taking photos on the streets. It’s not like he’s trying to see up their dresses or something.

            • http://ronscubadiver.wordpress.com Ron Scubadiver

So what? It is a wide angle picture taken in a famous church where there are hundreds of people milling around and most of them have cameras. The chances of having your picture taken in that place, intentionally or unintentionally are about 100%. If you see something wrong with it, you have a screw loose somewhere.

    • jki

      Ron

I am not one to bash peoples photography but you are simply a pervert with a camera and this is not one of those instances where “I just don’t understand art” or “real art is controversial, so you must be doing something right”.

      • http://ronscubadiver.wordpress.com Ron Scubadiver

Please leave a comment on my blog if you don’t like it, this is not the right place. Also, leave your real name and address so I can sue you for defamation.

        • law

          Not defamation if it’s true.

          • http://ronscubadiver.wordpress.com Ron Scubadiver

That is correct law, but the accusation is not true in this case.

            • law

That’s for the courts to decide. ;-)

            • http://www.seanmolin.com Sean Molin

Seriously guys, he’s just people watching, and taking pictures of pretty girls. What the hell is wrong with that? The style is just standard candid. I don’t see any bias to see-through clothing, upskirts, or anything of that matter. Women are beautiful, and I’m not sure why you WOULDN’T take pictures of them.

        • Banned

And did you give those people your name and address so they can return the signed model release? In this case they CAN sue you man. If at least those were good pics but they just look like some perv snapshots to be hanged in some cave.

          • http://Www.eltonsaulsberry.com Elton

While I don’t care for the photography, at least in the US this use does not require a model release.

            • http://ronscubadiver.wordpress.com Ron Scubadiver

The only places that I know of where the subject must give permission for non commercial publication are France, Norway and the Provence of Quebec in Canada. There is some question about Germany.

          • LOL

He has the right to photograph what he wants on the streets. You don’t have to like it either.

He’s not doing anything illegal. Morally, I dunno what he’s thinking.

            • http://ronscubadiver.wordpress.com Ron Scubadiver

              What was Gary Winogrand thinking?

  • C_QQ_C

AH, sounds like you’re invited in Germany too .. :-) ( mysterious smile…..)

  • Doug

Does this mean the D400 will be released soon?

  • Robert kaufman

I Think hé is already in sweden. You Can tell by yesterdays post He will be trawling the restaurants of Stockholm to find Nikon reps dining. ;-)

    • FX

      +1 lol!

  • RMT

So what the hell are we supposed to do the next few days dammit!
And what is Ken Rockwells problem?
