First, from a horribly rainy day in Vietnam.

Seems to take them quite long to get the new toys delivered :o

    • WoutK89

Seems not to take long, they at first had no or a late release date already, but I think some people are just too spoiled they can not wait to have their hands on new toys.
I know the SB-700 was said to be released end of november by a Dutch store and the 35/1.4 wasn’t even in their inventory list for over 2 weeks.

      • http://www.truphotos.com gnohz

Yeah I guess I mixed up the release dates of these 2 toys with the D7000 :D

  • santela

    it has begun!

  • Funduro

If they were to use the employees that build D7000 instead of building SB-700’s, all those going through separation anxiety wouldn’t be writing comic post.

    • http://www.truphotos.com gnohz

Hi Funduro, did you take that picture in your profile image? :)

      • Funduro

No, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night. :-) I was receiving National Geographic when they first printed that cover, it still mesmerizes me.. That’s one iconic picture. It’s my way of honoring the photographer who took it. I take pictures for fun, I hope to one day get lucky and shot at least one semi, maybe half great picture. Half the fun is getting out there and seeking it. I’m a newbie to digital pics, did B&W darkroom, Polaroids, film then slides. Yes I’m late to the party. But now the cameras are so much better and so is the SW programs.

        • Funduro

gnohz: Wow great pictures! I was blown away by your link. I did some travel, actually lots of travelling around the USA, primarily to take pictures(slides) and see the wonders of the National Parks. You know who is the chief B&W influencer is, lol. Yes, I made it to his famous shooting ground and took several rolls of slides of the place in 3 days. Will be going back someday and yes will bring my bear “I mean no harm” bells. If you go to Yosemite in the summer and hike, bring enormous amounts of water. High altitude, Sun, sandy soil and steep grades take it’s toll. BTW I bookmarked you site, thanks for your effort to posting your pictures and story.

          • http://www.truphotos.com gnohz

I see. That picture really caught my attention as I saw it many times before :D
Don’t worry, you’re not late at all. There’s no time limit for anything as long as we have the passion in doing it! :)

And thanks a lot for visiting my site! There’s also a facebook and flickr page if you feel like keeping up on any recent updates or uploads.

Thanks for the tip on Yosemite. Would love to visit it and also Yellowstone some day! I don’t think I’ll be going to the USA again the near future though. Probably more around Asia as I live here :D

            • Funduro

Did you understand the Holiday Inn joke? Yellowstone, now there ‘s a great picture taking place. Mother nature at her best. The bisons are huge, they scared me even while in a Jeep. The Continental Divide is awesome for landscapes.
After I purchased the Apple 27” iMac. I think, it’s high resolution monitor reawakened my photography bug. I’m waiting for my D7000 body. Looks like I’ll be getting both the camera and flash about the same time in November. That camera is popular off the bat. In the mean time I’m looking for a new head for my tripod, memory, learning digital theories and playing with Aperture 3 SW. I’m looking at getting a slide scanner to convert my slides.
It’s still kinda hot in central Florida, but the cooler weather is just around the corner. The migrating birds from the north have arrived, still hoping to spot my first Whooping Crane. BTW do not come to Florida looking for much in scenery. Out west is way more interesting.

Enjoy your adventure in Asia, we’ll save the National Parks till you can get back.:-)

            • http://www.truphotos.com gnohz

Nope I didn’t get that Holiday Inn joke lol, I apologise. I’m a bit slow…
But see you around, and I’ll get back to posting more pictures when I get the time to edit more! Still a ton of backlog from my recent trips!

He would have to be Steve McCurry to have taken that original photo….I seriously doubt Steve McCurry to be posting comments on nikonrumours ~___~

How do you think, did these lenses will be avaiable in Europe at the same date?

  • mshi

Need to see more 35 1.4 samples.

  • Gareth

i sent you (NR) a tip about a week ago, saying that a store in japan has it listed as available from the 19th.

  • Vkhalsa

For those who care: My SB-700 is apparently being delivered on Nov 15th from Amazon. Preordered it on Sept 15th at like 4 am with my D7000.

    • panfruit

A D7000 can order lenses? That camera just keeps looking better and better.

  • Mock Kenwell

Dying to see pics from this lens. Then dying to see the retail price drop significantly…

In Switzerland the shipping date for the 1.4 35mm is scheduled for week 46 (15.-21.11.).

    Hey NR,

I also wrote to you last night, my shipping date is projected at Nov 15th ( i have 2-day shipping with Amazon Prime).

Also, my business partner shot with the 35mm 1.4 @ PDN PhotoExpo. I waited forever to get my hands on it, but the Nikon reps (workers? they didn’t seem that knowledgeable) said only one was available, and none of them could seem to locate it, as they couldn’t leave their assigned stations. Never got to shoot it.

    Cheers.

    • http://nikonrumors.com/ [NR] admin

Yes, thanks – I got like 20 emails on the 35mm and they all had an Amazon shipping date +/- 2-3 days from Nov. 17th. On PDN Expo I waited like 20 min. to try the new Nikon products and gave up…

  • Bruce

I’m waiting until the Zeiss 35mm f/1.4 ZF.2 becomes available and someone does a comparison between the two. I suspect the Zeiss is going to be more useful for my street shooting purposes. At the moment I will continue to use my old Nikkor 35mm f/1.4 Ai-s. The modern AF/AF-S Nikkors are not very useful as shoot from the hip street tools because they lack clear and useful DoF focusing marks of the older style Nikkors.

    • http://nikonrumors.com/ [NR] admin

If everything goes according to my plan, I should be able to compare both Zeis and Nikon 35mm f/1.4 lenses in February of 2011 – this is when the Zeiss lens will be available in stores.

    • tsnake

I bought the 24mm 1.4 and regrettably have yet to find a use for it that cant be accomplished with my 85mm 1.4D lens. Perhaps time will tell. I cant forsee too many other uses for the 35mm either since I rarely ever use my 35mm 2.0. But then again, it does look like a mighty fine lens.

      • Rocking Kenwell

        You’re comparing a 24mm to an 85mm?!?

Do you even know what you are doing?

  • Bruce

And with respect to the SB-700… what the heck are Nikon thinking..? A $300++ flash with no PC sync…? WTFIUWT?

    • tsnake

      There’s no PC sync?
Then it’s useless to me as pocket wizards wouldnt be applicable

My 35 1.4G is supposed to arrive on Nov. 15. Excited! Have been using the new 85 1.4 AF-S for over a month and it’s great.

  • http://samobeid.com Sam Obeid

Looking forward to this and will probably be the first in Toronto to buy it! ;-) It will make a nice compliment to my wedding photography kit, which right now is the 24mm f/1.4G, 35mm f/1.8G, 50mm f/1.4G and the 85mm f/1.4G.

  • Segura

    I have:
    Delivery Estimate: November 15, 2010 – November 30, 2010

Seems strange to get a range when everyone else is getting a date of the 14th or 15th . . . anyone else getting a range? I pre-ordered within an hour of it showing up on Amazon, although I changed my Credit Card that was used last week.
