And the winner is…

First I would like to thank all participants in the ThinkTank Digital Holster 50 V2.0 giveaway. This time you beat all previous records with 3171 entries. I would like to thank also ThinkTank Photo for sponsoring this giveaway. Because of the large number of entries, I had to come up with a different way of selecting the winner - I ran a SQL script on the database that randomly picked one of the 3171 comments (I also made sure there were no duplicate entries):

and the winner is... Jimmy Lamont. Congratulations!

For the other 3170 readers that did not win this time, I will have another ThinkTank giveaway in the next few days. It will be also for a brand new ThinkTank product that you cannot purchase yet. Stay tuned.

I demand a new vote count. I should have won.

    • Comment Leaver

The appeal process has not been exhausted yet.

Jimmy Lamont is from Florida…. conspiracy?

  • venancio

honestly, i thought admin would choose one of those who did not submit an entry, as a new twist, and just get it from the email database he kept, less those who submitted an entry… i know it’s a bit lame but i’m still reeling from that Q fiasco, and having my dream stunted when the D400 was not revealed at photokina… congratulations mr. lamont, i hope you are not a resident of the u.s.a. to maintain this worldwide scope of promotion…

  • Jimmy Lamont

No , ‘venancio’, I am not the admin of Nikon Rumors, though I am an American. Just another Nikon shooter in Tampa, Florida. For what it’s worth, I’m also still pretty pissed about the lack of a new FX model at Photokina myself. Good luck in the next drawing!

Congrats Lamont, it wouldn’t of made it here in time for my trip to East Africa, but it would of been a nice welcome home gift.

      Enjoy!

    • Ken

Congrats! Hey I’m in Tampa in case you decide you don’t want it. (kidding)

  • Nikon President

Be patient, the best is yet to come.

  • panfruit

    Victory has left me. :(

  • http://www.truphotos.com gnohz

The chances of winning is 0.03% so it’s almost be default that we won’t get anything :o
Looking forward to the next giveaway! :D

    • jdsl

Admin should do the next raffle only for the 3070 losers :)
Then do it everyday for 3070 days :)

      • WoutK89

But that means, 3070 loser, with 3171 posts, 100 duplicate posts? :o

        • http://nikonrumors.com/ [NR] admin

no, just the result of posting this at midnight :)

I just realize that my gear doesn’t fit in that ThinTank… or am I just jealous??
    Congrats!!

  • THURO

Its ok, you can have that think tank bag. By the time Nikon releases my D800 there will be no more need for bags on planet earth. I heard it will come out with some sort of magnetic force field, and will float by your side at all times. It will be telepathically controlled, and therefore be able to read your thoughts. You don’t even have to see what you shoot, you wake up and all the shots you dreamt of will be in it. So again, keep your new bag, for I have no desire or need for such a product… Ok maybe those aren’t the exact specs, and maybe I do want the bag, but the truth… you’ll never know.

    • jose charo

I think this is the kind of guy that wears star wars costumes even when it’s not Halloween.

      • THURO

Who are you and how do you make such accurate assumptions of my daily dress?

        • jdsl

Makes me wonder what you wear after reading that Russell Williams Canadian Colonel news recently :)

  • what

Well nuts to computers taking control of picking a winner * takes a shot at NCAA Football standings* ZING!

  • VJ

So if I know which random seed you are using, and when you run the query, I just have to make sure I have the comment number… My plan is infallible!

(just kidding, nice way of randomizing the choice, congrats to Jimmy)

    • http://nikonrumors.com/ [NR] admin

actually the comment ID you see in the query would be the same for all comments

      • VJ

        Back to the drawingboard…. ;-)

  • http://www.danielcanoott.com Daniel

Congrats to the winner and THANKS A LOT to NR.

  • enesunkie

Congratulations Jimmie on winning and thanks NR Admin. I won a D5000 guide here and still have my head buried in it from time to time.

  • Jay A

    Didier

    • http://nikonrumors.com/ [NR] admin

Yes, with so many entries, I couldn’t do it any other way – before I used to ask the forum moderators to randomly pick a winner.

  • AC

    Congratulations Jim! :)
