Nikon Coolpix S1100pj and Coolpix S5100 pictures

This the Nikon Coolpix section from the same German magazine "Foto Digital" (see pictures of the Nikon D3100 and the four new lenses here). First is the new Nikon Coolpix S1100pj. As we already know, it will have a built in projector:

  • price around 350 Euros
  • touchscreen
  • remote control
  • several other improvements

And the new Nikon Coolpix S5100 with 12MP and 28-140mm zoom (price around 170 Euro) after the break:

Interestingly, the expected Nikon Coolpix P7000 was not covered in the magazine.

    Yeah, first!

Wow, if that is not one major leak. I hope for the magazine guys that they didn’t have to sign an NDA. Nikon made the right choice with not putting any useless VR into the 85mm/1.4G. Saves weight and adds precision.

Wow, the fools that bought a D3s or D3x will be kicking themselves when they see these, 12MP and a built in 28-140mm zoom.
I wonder if it takes shots at 204800 asa ?

Yeah, because the sensor on this camera is huge.

Are photographers particularly immune to sarcasm? Or are you just exceptionally gullible? :)

Haha the P7000 was not covered… Nikon decided to cancel it after reading NR forum for comments on the rumors. Excuse me while I coolpux all over these 1/2.3″ sensors.

lol, I think they just did not cover it – I doubt Nikon will release only 2 Coolpix cameras

Maybe the Sony NEX sent the P7000 back to be better speced.

    @NR,

you are posting posts too quickly. Please slow down.

I beg to differ. Rumors are news, you post them when you get them.

Differ between what? Never mind, just a joke and I guess NR will get it.

You know we don’t give a dime (not even a penny) about coolpix cameras.
Why do you keep posting about it ?

Maybe you should talk about things more oriented to DSLR and Nikkor lenses, what about that guy who sell Test Charts on a famous auction website, I heard they are not expensive and very usefull.

That’s just my opinion, of course, you’re the boss and we all thank you for what you do !

    Admin,
Thanks for all the updates and leaks.

Anyone know or have a rough estimate of what the new 85mm F/1.4 AF-S will sell for (U.S.)? Boy, I bet their will be one heck of a waiting list for this one. (85mm)…..

Speak for yourself. I want to hear about the Coolpix because they drive Nikon’s wallet and I keep hoping against hope they’ll finally make one worth buying.

First glance for me it looked like an Oly wproof/rugged camera (mju 850 sw e.g.).
Might it will be a dust/water/shockproof Nikon first?:)

Actually, a shockproof, waterproof camera that doesn’t suck ass would be a brilliant move for Nikon, especially with all their weather-sealing know-how. Every “extreme proof” cam on the market now takes crap photos and crap video. I would jump on a decent Coolpix if it could do that.

No ‘letters’ on the front of the camera indicating anything about ‘tough-proofness’ – so the new colour(ful) style of this s1100pj relates to its target market, the partyzoo-species…

They like the vivid, colourful gadgets => don’t expect high IQ:).
