I’m still sporting my trusty, yet way old, lowepro reporter AW 400, and could really use a solid backpack to lug all of my non-pro gear around with. If I had a better bag, maybe I’d feel more comfortable buying better gear! Alas, it’s about the photographer not the gears right? ;)

Great idea on this giveaway! Fun fun……………. and Thanks!

I need this backpack because I plan to go on a roadtrip this summer with my camera. Then I will publish my first photography book on blurb.

My current messenger bag is not enough to safely carry my flashes, cameras and lenses.

When I go out, I need to always compromise on what I can carry to a shoot. A backpack would be great for me especially when I have to travel by air. Currently I have not experience with ThinkTank bags but this would be a welcome opportunity to have an experience.

Why I want this bag? First, I shoot with Nikon D40, but I have Pentax sling bag. Pentax? Yes, Pentax sling bag. I need a better bag than that. Second, I started to have more lenses and speedlights and I don’t have enough spaces in my current bag. Plus, I would be able to carry my laptop along, making it easier for me to carry my camera anywhere, including to work, with my laptop and my camera always with me all the time.

I have never had a ThinkTank camera bag before. This bag attracted me because of it’s compact size. One can fit 2 camera, 5 to six lens, accessories and also a laptop. The design of the interior allows for a lot of moving around. The material of the bag itself is also a joy to handle.

I need this because I bought a smaller, holster style thinktank bag and never use it. It’s not big enough for the setup I like.

I’ve accumulated a lot of gear (lenses, camera bodies, flashes, etc) that cant fit in my camera bag I got at Wal-Mart. A Thinktank Photo backpack would definitely do the job. I hear Thinktank products are amazing!

I am currently using hand-me-down school backpack when I go on hikes. I have to wrap all the gear in towels to prevent damage while it is inside the backpack. It’s better than nothing … at least I’m out shooting.

I would love to have an actual backpack for a change … but I can’t afford one right now.

I have a ThinkTank Airport Security V2 that works great! I’d love this backpack so I can fill it with canon gear! :)

With a Think Tank backpack, at least I could never be accused of not having the word “Think” in my vocabulary…as for the “Tank”, that would have applied to my ol’ 1989 Chevy Caprice, but I digress.

All that space encourages newbies to plot and plan purchases wisely. TT is a Great gear carrier; what more can I say!

Despite my wife’s complaints that I have far too many bags already, I am always on the lookout for the best laptop/photo bag to use for air travelFrom what I see about the ThinkTanks, they look like they are laid out very well. They even look like they would play nice as carry-on luggage. I have never had the cash to try one out, perhaps this can be my chance! Though I could probably unload all of my bag collection and get one, but then I would have no bag collection, right?

ooooohhh. I need a think tank shape shifter because it’s the bees knees as far as I can tell. I have the multimedia 20, a holster, and a few other of their products and they’re the best I’ve seen or used. Currently I just throw my gear in a kelty rucksack which is great for what it is- but it’s no shape shifter!

Currently I have the Airport Security V2, Think Tank Skin set, Think tank speed pro belt, and a holster, all i am missing a backpack so i can bring my Nikon D3, D700 and all my lenses with me where i go in different way to match my shooting and my cloths.. haha

I am going to Arizona in about a month. I was already looking into buying a thinktank bag but don’t think I can afford it before the trip. Which sucks because my current backpack isn’t big enough for my D300 and D700 together (with the other stuff I would need). This would be huge if I could win this! Thanks for the opportunity nonetheless. Have a good one, Levi

I’ve never owned a think tank bag, but have been looking for a backpack which would let me carry both a laptop and my camera gear. I’m a student, so I always need to have my laptop on me, but my backpack isn’t designed well for a camera, so I find myself without a good camera when I need one.

Thanks for your updated NIkon info and kindness as always, I need this bag because I never had such bag for my Photo gears, I always wrapped my camera and lenzs with cloth and put into my travel bag only when I went out for shooting or with my family. Maybe it’s a good idea to have this bag for my future use. Thanks!

I bought my first Thinktank bag along with my Nikon 70-200 VR II because it wouldn’t fit it my normal Domke bag. At first I was skeptical and would only use it when using the 70-200 but I quickly saw all the advantages to this bag. The expandable portion which enables you to keep the hood cover on, and the versatility of all the small rooms for gadgets. This brand is fantastic, and I would love to carry that bag around with me, which looks big enough for me to put everything I own in it.

I have a large Jill-e roller bag for when I travel by car or plane, but I have absolutely nothing to haul my gear when I go hiking with my husband and sons. And this why I have nothing — I used to have a nice padded backpack that I would carry my stuff in. One time, when I did a remote shoot, I had a very long sync cord in the bag to use with my off camera flash. A small hole developed in the bottom of the pocket of the backpack and that sync cord worked its way out and started trailing behind me. I was the last person in the line of people on the trail, but I kept feeling someone tapping me on the behind. I would turn around again and again, only to find no one there. It was freaking me out! Then, that stupid cord trailed out so far that it got caught in a bush as I passed by. All of a sudden, I was jerked back. As I tried to get away from my unseen assailant, my backpack gave way and a bunch of my stuff fell out all over the trail. Luckily, my camera and lenses were in a separate compartment, or I would have cried.

So, that is why I need a new backpack!

  48. Posted March 14, 2010 at 11:36 pm | Permalink

For now I have a small one shoulder bag, that barely fits my body with a pro lens. (and just hurts when wearing it).

As I want to upgrade to a full-frame body with more and better glass, I could use something not just to support the weight of the camera bag over 2 shoulders, but also the helps to carry the weight of the budget to buy all this nice new shiney Nikon gear.

And after all, a free, yet high Quality bag, is the perfect excuse to fill it up with nice expensive lenses!

I had a Crumpler Sinking Barge and loved it, but I left it at home in order to travel really light on a trip to Australia and New Zealand. While gone, my house was robbed and the bag stolen. I had insurance and all, and while they stole basically everything I had in photo equipment (minus the one body and two lenses I was traveling with) I got it all back and actually got to replace some old stuff with new so it all worked out. Since, I’ve been working with a Kata DR 467 backpack, and I love my new Pelican 1510 for when I need to carry it all.
