Nikon Rumors giveaway #3

This giveaway is now closed. I will announce the winners tomorrow. 596 comments total.

Since it is slow on Nikon rumors, I will start giving stuff away. Here is the first one:

nikon d300s book Nikon Rumors giveaway #3

Amazon just got in stock the new Nikon D300s book by David Busch (bibliography | more info on this book can be found oh his website here). I happened to have two signed copies (courtesy of David Busch himself) of that book to give away. The rules are simple – just leave a comment to this post. I will close all comments in 24 hours and will randomly pick two winners. Of course I don’t believe in “US only” giveaways and I will ship those books anywhere in the world.

Fine print: The contest is void where prohibited by law. If you are not old enough to be eligible to win a free photography book, go live someplace else. All taxes are the responsibility of the winner. NikonRumors.com is not responsible for anything.

I’ve been considering the Nikon D300s for some time now, This would be the cherry atop the icing (not to mention make me finally get the cam at last).

Sounds like a great idea, and who doesn’t like a giveaway. I was actually thinking to myself that the D300s would be a great camera to have when I’m out shooting wildlife (currently have a D700.. but long glass is never long enough), so if I win the book it will be great because I’m already thinking of the camera. A big applause to NikonRumours as well for your site. It’s on my daily website crawl, to find out what’s new (and what’s just smoke.. still fun). I’m in Africa so it’s pretty cool that I can get hold of the very same info that’s available to all you folks in rich countries..

What I find strange is that on this page the book cover has a D300s with a 18-55mm lens, while the Amazon cover has a 18-105mm lens.

Great thing, one can even spam in this comment thread cause noone (except for you maybe) is going to read the stuff. However, I am still waiting for the “beginning of december” announcement of new lenses – what happened to that 16-35/4 btw?

I’m looking forward to purchasing the D300s. It’s a logical step up from the D80 (yes, I know about the D90!) since I want more flexibility in the camera, especially the ability to handle older lenses. The video capabilities appear to be quite nice too which will be great since I won’t have to carry around two devices to captures my kids’ best moments!

  170. Posted December 1, 2009 at 4:14 pm | Permalink

Nice gesture – wish you could add the camera as well :-)

I’m a D80 shooter but would like to upgrade soon to D300s or D700s – in case of unlimited funds the choice would be easy. In any case we’ll have to wait a little to see if D700s indeed materializes, I guess chances are significantly above 50%.

Thanks for all the rumors – keeps us excited.
