Rumor: Nikon price decrease in Canada on Monday

nikon-preice-decrease-canada

Update: this price decrease is basically an adjustment based on the exchange rate.

For our fellow Canadians - the rumor is that Nikon Canada will decrease their prices on Monday. If true, I will have the new Nikon price list online on Monday (November 16, 2009).

NR rating system: 75% probability

If Nikon lowers the prices in Canada, does that mean that they will lower them in the US?

I think the idea is to match the US prices

Sweet, looking to pickup some new gear for the 2010 wedding season.

  • Mike

That’s awesome eh! Go Laughs! I mean, Go Leafs! CDN $ is at $0.93 US so I would hope prices go down! Thanks admin!

  • Jesus_sti

Youhou ! I’m Canadian, but without cash now ! :( —» wait something like D4 before move ….

  • Zenndott

Oh, I wish prices would come down like this in Japan. You all can complain, but the Japanese consumer always pays a heavy price for their gear.

  • M!

i wonder how this would affect the final price on my pre-order on the D3S and 70-200 VR II….

  • YEAH

do not buy Nikon. Wait and see !!!

  • ian

    Yesssssssssss at last

  • Quash

Perfect! After just buying an SB-900 yesterday!!! Arghh!!!!!

  • Can photo

Oh no. My friend just bought a d700.

  • Alex

    Great !
Good thing I waited 12 years to buy a new lens !
I hope we will also see some rabates on prime lenses :o)

  • johnny

    About time!
The af-s 60mm is about 200$ more expensive in Canada.
I was about to cross the border to get one :)

  • Nithin

B&H has an instant rebate of $50 on D90..

    can black friday beat it?

  • http://www.hayphoto.ca HayPhoto

Sounds, good, and I’ve been looking at pulling the trigger on a D700.

  • Anonymous

    Sounds good to me.

  • Anonymous

i dont see any rebates for the d90

  • Dweeb

Sorry Nikon, you drained my blood last year and introduced nothing I’m interested in this year.

Readers may not realize Nikon Canada never offer rebates and their accessory prices are typically 40% higher than the US.

  • http://www.photoblazr.com sasishan

Henry’s Canada still has the D700 priced at the same price point ($3069).

Excuse me while i go back to clicking the refresh button on that page ;)

  • LudwigC

Okay. Here it is. I copied a bunch of prices last night from Nikon.ca and just again checked this afternoon. (Just because some of the lenses have no rebates does not mean that they won’t be updated later, but the fact that other lenses within that same category have been discounted tells me that’s pretty much it for now.) Here are the ones I have:

Apologies. I only wrote down lens prices. I did not check out camera bodies, etc.

  • Martin

Oh well. I’ve sold all my Nikon gear and am now the proud owner of a Sony a850. Too little too late guys. So far, from high iso to bright sunlight scene, the a850 is a cracker….this coming from a previous D300 owner.

I may return one day, ’till then, I bid you A Dieu!!

Murphy’s law says that Nikon will now release the flash I’ve been waiting for for over a year….the SB-700. I’m doing you guys a favor. Now that I’m no longer a Nikon guy (and don’t get me wrong, Nikon makes kick a$$ equipment) they will announce a bunch of gear I was waiting for.

  • Martin

I was kidding. I’m playing with Murphy’s law’s mind…trying to get some gear rumors going but it’s not working.

  • vermontmike

Big deal…have you seen the exchange rate? I live 60 minutes from Montreal and I would pay MORE for a body than I can here…even if they lowered the price 20%

  • http://nikon.com AC

When will we see a price drop in US??? This really suxxx when I see Nikon is paying more attention/love to other countries!
