Extent of Nikon D5000 recall. On the Nikon Singapore site you can spend endless time entering numerous serials to determine the range of cameras affected. It doesn't stop you after a few entries which the US one seemed to do. Serial nos for Asia and Europe I think start with a 6, US with a 3 maybe. Based on my entering and refining numerous numbers, the range of serial beginning with 6 shows that numbers between approx 6 001300 and 6 129257 all need to be recalled. If my logic is correct, it could (I say could, as this is an assumption based on numbering, not necessarily Nikon practise) mean that some 127 THOUSAND cameras beginning with the prefix 6 are in the recall list. If correct, this means Nikon has some serious trouble on their hands. It also means they probably knew about this for a while, enough time to gear up to fix al this stuff. And that's just the numbers prefixed by 6.

If interested in repair manuals etc (always handy to have), then there’s an exploded view of a SB-800 here :

Nikon Netherlands have a handy shop site as it shows you the available spare parts, and sometimes stock codes for them:

    Mr. Admin:

Don’t you have any Zeiss rumors? I love those lenses for the Nikon F-Mount. Thanks!

Just for your information, the thing about D200:s being used as traffic cameras is old news, from march 2006 I read.
